  • Maybe some day. I figured I might as well have some fun food while I still can though. Tomorrow I go in for my annual physical and she will probably scold me for my unhealthy lifestyle. I have a feeling I am getting probed too. :(
I have a beef roast in the slow cooker for tomorrow night (It is still late Monday here). In the morning I will add a few potatoes. :eat:
Oh cool, really? I never knew some people had speculated Jesus was an incarnation of Brahma. That sounds interesting. :)

I've heard of the stories of Brahma giving out too many blessings far too easily, which is why Vishnu incarnated as Buddha, to lure them away from the worship of Brahma, or something; I don't know how authentic this story is within Hindu literature, but it's a pretty interesting one nonetheless.

I'm quite interested in the old Vedic gods, and such - probably because I'm interested in Norse theology, too. I don't understand how Indra and Agni, who were very important once, became less important. It seems a shame! I don't even know of an Indra mantra. :D

(And what does Murugan do? I know he's popular in South India, but not what he's the deva of!)

I'm the same as you: I don't take them literally, some may. I don't believe these events occurred, at least not on earth: in some spiritual realm, who knows? I can't say for sure, I'm not in a deva realm. :D
That's true, they're all manifestations of the One - it just made me wonder, why is Brahma without avatars, and Shiva and Vishnu, even Ganesh, have them?

Speaking of Brahma, do you know any stories as to why he isn't so commonly worshipped, along with say, Indra and Agni, who used to be worshipped commonly? I'm looking for some people's understandings of it. :)

And regarding Shiva-Brahma as aspects the One, does it mean, that they are non-literal entities, or they exist similar to us (but not human and stuff)?

Shiva and Vishnu are just facets of the One.. Harihara.. :D

    Man, that pic awesome.
Madh, I gots me a question!
How come Brahma isn't commonly worshipped, and has no avatars? Any idea?
    Hi Madhuri,
I am rather sticky with the comparison between Buddhism and Buddhism in these days and now making a thesis on it.I have many questions to ask you dealing with Hinduism. If possible, please give me your account and I would like to have a conversion with you on line!
Hehehe. Being crazy with power = awesome. Using it responsibly = less awesome. ;)

Seen my thread in Hinduism DIR? :D
