Oh cool, really? I never knew some people had speculated Jesus was an incarnation of Brahma. That sounds interesting.
I've heard of the stories of Brahma giving out too many blessings far too easily, which is why Vishnu incarnated as Buddha, to lure them away from the worship of Brahma, or something; I don't know how authentic this story is within Hindu literature, but it's a pretty interesting one nonetheless.
I'm quite interested in the old Vedic gods, and such - probably because I'm interested in Norse theology, too. I don't understand how Indra and Agni, who were very important once, became less important. It seems a shame! I don't even know of an Indra mantra.
(And what does Murugan do? I know he's popular in South India, but not what he's the deva of!)
I'm the same as you: I don't take them literally, some may. I don't believe these events occurred, at least not on earth: in some spiritual realm, who knows? I can't say for sure, I'm not in a deva realm.
