  • Oh, I'm reading a book about different aspects of Christian Mysticism.
It seems Western in it's examples, Ignatius' Spiritual Exercises, The Cloud, St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, Thomas Merton, and a man who has a scientific background, but a Christocentric view of it all.... But all the same has been a glorious read, up to this point.
I've skipped around, but am currently on the The Cloud.
I'm also wondering how to get more formal meditation/contemplation teachings in the EOC/OOC tradition, without joining the Church....
Just wondered what/if your thoughts were on The Cloud, but if you have anything else to add.
    Awesome.
    Hope you are well, Brother.
    Blessings :namaste
Hey Brother.... Hope you are having a good one.
Have you ever read The Cloud of Unknowing?
Thank you...the Trinity doctrine was one of the first things I wrestled with when I got deep in to Christian doctrine. It was a tough wrestle too, but once I got it, man, I got it!!!
Thank you for the frubal. I actually see it as not only my way of thinking since the scriptures speak of all believers as "saints", which includes John, Paul, you, me, or anyone who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ, rather than only certain designated "Saints' determined by a religious organization.:)
I want to give you more frubals, but I am so mesmerised by the beautiful hymns you've posted! ~~ Your sister in Christ!
I wasn't going to post in that thread, the other one, initially, but changed my mind.
Please feel free to guide and correct as thou wilt.
You have a lot of knowledge in this area too.
I'm a little more freelance in finding my way to it and with it.
Although, I'm getting more properly versed in the specific people and stories.

That part of the sermon is very Bhagavad Gita-ish, and speaks of the love and patience of God, no matter what you call him. I may put that section into a little 4x6" Word document, print it and frame it.
Oh, this I am aware of. I thought there was a current schism between the RC and EOC and/or OOC. It was nice to hear your telling of it though. It made a lot of sense. Thanks, P. :namaste
I wanted to tell you how much I enjoy reading your replies on the forum. You speak (write) eloquently.
I go to Michigan State University (the one NOT in Ann Arbor). I have had at least a passing interest in Christianity for about two year but I'd say it's intensified a lot more recently (the past 6 months). I am very interested in Anglo-Catholicism.
I'm just curious where you go to college and did you convert before or during your college years?
Thank you for the frubal. I realized that my post was in the Christianity DIR so I decided to remove it, alas.
