  • My worst fear is that he'll say no outright because of my family. My wife and probably my oldest son won't convert. I know that can be a deal-breaker for orthodox rabbis.
    Slowly, lol.

I've just about finished the reading list the rabbi gave me, and I know I want to convert (which is a big step from when I began). But I'm hesitant to see the rabbi for the next step. It's part apprehension, part time constraints, and part fear. Hopefully I'll work up the courage to do it soon.

I need more books to read too, lol!
    Hi Xkatz
No, I became interested in Vedanta philosophy almost 4 years ago. :) I am not from an Indian background, I do not consider myself "Hindu", rather I find Sanatana Dharma is most satisfying and have decided to add that in my profile. I love the Sri Guru Granth Sahib, for it's clarity and depth and remain interested in Sikhi. I see you are happy with Judaism :)
    HUH?:sorry1:

Wait a minute. are you talking about my bread with meat? I don't use milk or eggs when I make bread
Right on, I think the mystic mind is the more favourable approach to considering Supreme Beingness.
thought ill ask you here, so how does one pronounce it? G-d? like how does one speak it?
I am so confused right now. I've associated you with eastern religion for as long as I've known you. Were you listed as Jewish previously? I'm sorry for not paying enough attention
Thats great Judaism is going that good for you, I am jealous!

Kriya Yoga is the same as the eight fold Yoga. Basically its working with your energies and turning them inward to attain union with God. Its very non-sectarian. It was made known about to the modern world by Babaji, passed on to Lahiri Mahasaya, then to Sri Yutkeswar Giri, then the Paramahansa Yogananda.
