  • "Afraid so"? Dude, it's your own choice ;) Run with whatever fits you the best. If it's Sikhism, it's Sikhism. If it's Judaism it's Judaism. And Sikhism has always said that any religion of peace and tolerance is a way to Wahegru, so no guilty feelings there either :)
If for some reason none of it works, please tell me and we can try to figure something else that will work. I know what it feels like to have something that you really cherish and your parents dont accept, it is hard. But I found that when they saw that it is apart of me, they accepted it because they loved me. So just show your parents that Sikhism is apart of you, and I believe they will then accept because of love towards you. Acceptance is very good and once it takes place resistance stops and a great peace prevails.
Well, my family was not very hostile to my spiritual persuits but they didnt really like them. I think that if you just hang in there that your parents will begin to see that Sikhism is apart of you and that for them to fully accept you, they must accept you as a Sikh. My Dad doesnt like my spiritual practices, and he used to redicule me and we used to get into arguements. But I stuck with it and he ended up accepting is as apart of me. I would also sit down with your parents, if I were you, and talk to them and let them know that Sikhism apart of you and that you would feel better if they accepted that part of you.
:-/ We can only hope your situation improves soonish. :)

At least, you have the gurdwara of your mind. :)
Visiting Gurdwara can be Uplifting , but we can try to make our body a Gurdwara ;)

    Bilaawal, First Mehl:

    ਮਨੁ ਮੰਦਰੁ ਤਨੁ ਵੇਸ ਕਲੰਦਰੁ ਘਟ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥਿ ਨਾਵਾ ॥
My mind is the temple, and my body is the simple cloth of the humble seeker; deep within my heart, I bathe at the sacred shrine.

The One Word of the Shabad abides within my mind; I shall not come to be born again. ||1||
