  • Oh, still, that stinks. And im callin it quits for tonight, im headin for bed. Talk to ya later.
I think seeing Gotama and the Sikh Gurus as Sad-Gurus sounds good. And that stinks your parents have mocked you for that.
They thought it was odd, and still do. But they say as long as it doesnt hurt me that they are fine with it.
I was really quiet with my change. I bought books and things but keep them sort of hidden. I progessivly started showing more and more. When my parent saw that I had started researching and practicing eastern religions, at the time Buddhism, they were fine with it. It suprised me how accepting they were. I grew up in a VERY liberal christian home. My dad strayed away from Christianiy and my mom doesnt even attend church or anything like that.
Very cool, ill have to start doing that! And, how did your family react when you lost interest in Judaism?
If you dont mind me asking, why would your dad see some of the stuff offensive? I saw that you had a Menorah on your shrine, is your family Jewish?
Im thinking about making a shrine, but im not sure what to put there. I was thinking about putting some sages that I like. But, im not to sure yet.
I dont know what religion you are? Are you not going to be Sikh? After you stick with it for a while are you going to reveal to everyone?
Yes, I believe this is the right path for me. Im already writing some stuff down, kind of like a short book of my doctrine and philosophy. Its fun!
I see, you did just make your decision. Nice Avatar! I started researching it and something said in me, NO! I will always respect the religion, but I dont want to follow it. Im sticking with my "Non-Creation" philosophy.
Sounds easy enough, thats basically the same with Jainism. You just follow the basics and your in!
How do you convert to Sikhism? Do you just follow the rules of the religion or is there a process?
I wish you luck with Sikhism. All of this seems tough. But, I believe that the problem might be, at least for me, is that I see another religion that is kind of interesting and then want to convert to it. I think we just need to find whats best for ourselves and if we see anything else cool in another religion we just admire it and move on. In the end you come back to Sikhism, and in the end I come back to Jainism. Sikhism must be good for you sense you come back to it and Jainism must be good for me sense in the end I keep con coming back to it.
Well, I think that you have to progress over time and within time you will be a very good Sikh :) I have the same problem too. Picking up Jain Dharma isnt easy and im wondering how closly I will follow it. But, I have to do the same. Go slow and progress over time. I think that one reason why I left Jain Dharma this week was because I was being to hard on myself.
