So, as Christians, you all feel its ok to mix a supposed Christian holiday with a pagan one? Remember, regardless of "you" celebrate christmas, I think you need to consider how God views it. do you really think God would approve it?
Its fact that Christmas has its roots in pagan sun worship. There is also no command found in the bible to celebrate the birth of Christ. This is all besides the obvious fact that Dec. 25 was not the day Jesus was born.
Thanks to the thread starter for using my quote. It looks like some of you understand this. The mosaic law is no longer binding, but the principals are. The mosaic law gave us a very good idea of what God would expect of a perfect person; it would be foolish to ignore it. Jesus instituted...
Really? Wow. I thought that speaking in tongues was a gift from Jesus to his disciples in the first century to allow them to spread the word to different lands. They were ordered to spread the word about jesus to all the known world, much of which spoke a different language than the apostels...
Yes I do eat pork, and Yes I do shave. Why? Because Christians are no longer bound by the mosaic law. The mosaic law was completely fullfilled in the messiah, Jesus. Jesus did away with the old law and instituted a new one; the law of love. The Mosaic law was simply a "mirror" for the Jews...
Well then, throw out the entire bible. You cant take bits and pieces. Either it is the word of God or it isn't. If Adam wasnt a real person, why is he mentioned in the geneology of Jesus? Why is he such a real person to many of the biblical prophets? Adam and Eve had children, 3 of which...
This argument is poor. We know how to pronouce other names that were written in Hebrew. They all follow the same rules as YHWH. Jehovah is simply the english translation of Gods name.
So your essentially saying that god has no choice but to see the future? If thats the case, then he is not all powerful. I believe that if God has the ability to see th future, he also has the ability not to see the future. Not that I'm comparing myself with God, but imagaine an existance...
To think that gods name should not be used is rediculous. Jewish superstition took the name out of the bible for many years. The entire theme of the bible is the vindication of Gods name Jehovah. Its a theme that starts in Genesis and ends in Revelation.
Would they still be here? Makes me think that Gods original purpose was for them to live here on the Earth. Does it make you rethink the whole going to heaven thing? I mean, why would god make a physical creature(man)only to intend him to live in Heaven? I mean God had already created...
