    Any musicians in the house?

Used to play lead guitar in a reggae band. Now I tend to be content with strumming on an acoustic. Also play bodhran and the frame drum.

Why is there so much opposition to evolution?

Educating us about what? With what? You haven't given us any evidence yet. Don't flatter yourself.

Why is there so much opposition to evolution?

I supplied him with a definition in my edit. Talk about a post that was :foot: Do we have a symbol for shooting oneself in the foot, I wonder?

Why is there so much opposition to evolution?

Now, that's a statement that just cries out for justification! Edit: did you mean to write 'unequivocally' instead, or does your statement stand as it is? Definition of equivocal: 1a : subject to two or more interpretations and usually used to mislead or confuse <an equivocal statement> b ...

Why is there so much opposition to evolution?

I think you are being asked to provide evidence for your assertions. Lay them out and let's examine them in more detail.

    Nationalism

Do you equate nationalism with pride in one's country? I am proud of my country's achievements, culture, language, environment and so on, but I certainly wouldn't deem my country superior to others. IMO that pride is a form of (or a component of) nationalism.

Ants and leaves - the Gift

I'm an atheist, and the natural world is what I derive my inspiration and purpose from. No I don't. No evidence to suggest it does. I doubt it. However, I am asking for evidence for your specific claims that you have written throughout this thread and others. Using words such as "impossible"...

Ants and leaves - the Gift

Interesting response. Given that you are making specific claims about the way you think Nature works, I was hoping for evidence in terms of tested hypotheses and data to back up your emphatic claims of "Impossible! Can't be done!" Seems like you can't supply this, in which case your ideas don't...

Do you have evidence for the highlighted parts? If so, can you tell us where we can obtain it so we can evaluate it for ourselves?

    Anyone with OCD here?

I don't deny myself checking. I have to do it. People around me know this, so they tolerate it. I do make myself (and others) late for things quite often, but that's secondary. Really selfish, I know, but I can't help it. Years ago, my girlfriend was driving us somewhere and I had to get her to...

    Anyone with OCD here?

I, too, fulfil them, but I'm getting increasingly angry at the control they exert over me and the amount of time wasted in what I know to be futile actions. Time permitting, I'll see what I can dig up from the net on this and I'll post anything useful here. Edit...

    Anyone with OCD here?

No, I haven't seen anyone about it, but I'm reaching the stage where I think I'll have to. The response from your doctor was pretty harsh. Okay, GPs aren't qualified to deal with a lot of psychological issues, but he should have refered you to someone who is. How do you deal with it yourself?

    Anyone with OCD here?

I've not been officially diagnosed with it, but I'm sure I've got it. I have to make sure I have switched everything off before I leave a room or the house. I need to go round and check everything is switched off at least three times and (here's the fkn crazy bit!) sometimes I'm not convinced...
