    Santa claus

Children should be taught the good things about this Santa Claus thing, (be kind, give, etc.) But not of its existence, children should learn to think for themselves and decide whether he exists or not and not to have the beliefs of others to be forced upon themsleves. That is hurtful because...

If a tree falls down in the forest and no-one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?

Sound is just electirical impulses traversing the surface of our brain. So, if a conscious being is not present to interpret the sound, then it would technically not exist.

The "Stalin was an atheist" argument

So your saying religion had nothing to do with these wars: In northern Ireland, the "unrest" was partly caused by Catholic/Protestant differences. The war on terror with Al Qaeda, they and radical Islam view upon it as a religious war. The Crusades, did those violent battles have anything to do...

Many people are desparate to serve a higher force that will aid them in times of need, and i don't think many people regard the advancements of science to change what they believe, like to many people science if just this subject at school, that's all. And i don't think more and more people are...

The "Stalin was an atheist" argument

If atheism inspires evil in people (which is doesn't) then wouldn't theism inspire goodness in people? All the wars that were started by religion, murders of innocent individuals because apparently "god" told them to do it, etc, prove it doesn't.

    In a purely hypothetical situation...

If i were to convert to a religion, it would be Buddhism, because i agree with many of its characteristics and because Buddhists are a peaceful bunch, not bent on violence and destruction, like other religions...

    Praying - Is it necessary?

Praying is completely pointless, as it has never worked for anyone. The times it has "worked", it was due to the Placebo Effect. And i agree that only people who's life is currently messed up, and there is nothing they can do, they turn to ask an "idol" for good things to happen to them via...

Why Care Whether God Exists Or Not?

Of course we should care. Especially if you think that god exists; to know how to worship him. As humans, we have an overwhelmingly large curiosity, and to calm that desire to understand, we concern ourselves with things such as science and the arts, to extend beyond out barriers. And if your...
