Why literal creationists are abusing scripture

Although not asked to me i think the response to that question would be: As long as literal reading doesn't contradict reality it is preferred. When it contradicts reality it must be interpreted and was obviously always intended to be interpreted.;) At least that's the answer history gives us...

how does a YEC explain trees that are 50,000 years old.

I do not know. My guess is that since trees do not reach more than some 500 years (as far as I know) they should not have a problem with the tree rings. As for the rest ... if you believe that earth is 6000 years old then by definition there can't be any acceptable method of age determination...

how does a YEC explain trees that are 50,000 years old.

Since YEC does not accept C-14 dating (or any other dating method that goes beyond the x 0000 time span) these trees can't possibly be 36000 years old.

    Science explaining God

This is a funny one :) I would say... if you want to proove that God exists then the best way to do that is to use a definition of the term God that you can proove. So if i state "I am God" then it is pretty simply to proove God... I am therefore God is. As silly as this may sound .. it is...

    Religious discrimination(work)

I think that most people choose because of personal reasons (apart of the needed qualifications). I think this is not "discriminating", it simply is normal. In both of the above examples i would choose not to pick the ones that put an extra strain on me or others in the company. I see no sense...

    Does Non-Faith Deserve Respect?

You suggest a kind of social agreement or ethical attitude ? I am not sure if we do really have tolerance. I would argue that tolerance is exactly what we do not have. But then again this might be because i see tolerance perhaps as a wider term. Ok, I can accept that. No offense meant.

    Does Non-Faith Deserve Respect?

I don't think ordered respect will bring us any further. And as long as we don't harm each other i have no problem with the way it is. But perhaps i simply don't understand the term respect correctly. I see it like the definition here: "Respect is esteem for, or a sense of the worth or...

    Does Non-Faith Deserve Respect?

This might be. After all nobody is perfect. And not everybody speaks english as a native language. If i had not read it, I wouldn't have answered. I see no sense in idle talk. If YOU are really interested in talk then perhaps you should try to do so without being so inapropriately snippy. Its...

    Does Non-Faith Deserve Respect?

No need to raise your testosterone levels so fast my friend. ;) No offense meant. Perhaps i am simply wrong. But thats the way i understood your words here: The law doesnt say that you must respect, the law says you must tolerate. In my view respect can't be ordered anyway. It is something that...

Islam, how much do you really know about it?

I am confused. Are you smart or are you not ? If you are not then how do you know others are not ? Can you name me some ? I thought that you were encouraging others (nonmuslims) to read also islamic books. So I asked the question what you had read so far. And it seems religiously only islamic...

    Does Non-Faith Deserve Respect?

I think you mix "respect" with "tolerance" here.

Are the Bible and Quran for Beginners?

What is a "spiritual beginner" and what is "more advanced spirituality" ? I think that people that look for "spiritual" things will find them in any book that says what they want to hear.

Islam, how much do you really know about it?

You may "replay with" whatever you want. It would be nice if you replied at least in plain english ;) Lets see ... You said it would be 71.11 percent. I replied (with a link) that currently it is 70.8 %. Then you answered that this would be the same and i should refer to the nasa link (that you...

Islam, how much do you really know about it?

Could you please stop spaming around ? Your copy paste of known articles from known bogus sites is rather boring. Can't You write something on your own ? Why dont you copy the text that the earth was created in 6 days and tell me how science prooved that too ? Or how about the stars that were...
