Well said 9/10 penguin.
I don't see how the first two options s are plausible.
A) this has all existed forever in the past
B) it came from nothing.
C) it was created.
The most rediculous thing about c) is... where did the creator come from! It's really rediculous! I can see how stupid it...
Haha. Actually that is my beleif. This world is impossible! Logically it makes no sense that anything exists. Great comment!
So I don't base my beliefs as much on Philosophy as I do on personal experience. But not in a "what feels best to me" kind of way. I really want to beleive what's...
Forgive my lack of terminology accuracy.
I'll try to answer.
Deductive logic (I think is the right term)
Three main options I know of are:
Everything physical has always existed forever in the past. Or keeps exploding and imploding and exploding again.
Or the big bang started from nothing...
You've made yourself clear.
But what's your defanition of science?
And I admitted throughout this thread that I am not a formerly trained philosopher. My terminology is way off. I am a logical thinker however.
Your insults don't help prove your point. They actually show your illogical bias...
Good point.
It's a analogy. I'll try to make my point clear.
If we can't let go of our current logic in a test swim, then our logic may not expand towards truth.
You could pick this apart. But I hope you catch the drift. We should move away from the analogy if it comes up short to the point...
Are you suggesting that, because I beleive in God, that I wouldn't know what science is? Update your understanding of the modern Christian. Hello, nice to meet you.
What does scientific research and/or guessing and testing have to do with logic?
Scientists use logic and imagination to come...
No no no!
I don't think true equals possible! STOP.
I would be very very very careful not to say that.
I can see how you might have read it thay way. I said a few different things might be logical in explaining one reality. But at thay time what I meant by logic was that someone could use a...
I would say letting go of the edge of the pool would be testing. If someone comes to the conclusion that a real and living God may fit as the logical answer, then test that by seeking God or actively keeping eyes open for God.
Ahhhhh man.
Could I argue that everyone or most people think logically. It's what we do. Even if we don't formally know about the history and terminology behind logic.
We are logical by nature.
Some of us just don't think about things as deeply as others. But we all weigh the facts in some...
Thank you too.
We are friends here.
I like your faith in Christ.
We know Christ lives and we know the Spirit of God is active and real in this world.
I just want to point people to God. It's not a simple task. Each person out there is different with a different set of experience.
Maybe...
Interesting comment. I totally think we can learn about God by studying nature. I differ slightly though. I think God was before all and created this physical universe and our planet with everything in it. He isnt nature but it is His art. We can for sure learn about God if this is true. Like...
Maybe someone in the philosophy feild could comment on this. I will put the idea forward that this scenario is logical.
If I can do magic
And I use it to get around
Then I could have used it to get to the house
Logical, yes. Backed up by facts, I don't think so. Probable? Well, if I did use...
I totally hear you. I beleive Satan does exist.
I want to explore this idea with you because it is something I wonder about. (Although, it's kind of like staring at road kill.) But every once in a while we could study a dead body to learn something I guess...
So that said. If we serve...
Well, I hear you too. It's a logical conclusion on your part .
I would point out that the heart/spirit is where I think God meets us in the most personal way. But God can also meet us in the mental and physical as well. Physical: as in miracles and mental: as in visions dreams (maybe other...
Interesting. I feel that a number of explanations are logical about reality, including evolution and the big bang without a creator. They could all be made logical in an argument. So I agree with you on that I think. It would be nice to agree on something.
Your comment is a good one, I have...
What about our own will? Do you think we can have a choice that God doesn't want and the devil doesn't want or isn't even aware of. The devil isn't omnipresent is he?
Just looking for your opinion based on your interpretation of the bible.
