    The penalty for sin is death, and God established that rule so Adam and Eve new about it and would hopefully not succumb to temptation. I think you missed my point. Suffering existed before then, obviously the devil felt it when he was cast from heaven.

    My belief is that if you do not accept Jesus as your Lord and savior, and you don't ask forgiveness for your sins, then you unfortunately go to hell. It sounds harsh, but the bible says that the penalty for sin is death, and that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of god.
