How can you believe in God? And of the suffering earth.

Firstly, no where in the original post was the bible mentioned. Christ was brought up in passing, but I did not take that to mean that only Christians (or people who believe in the bible) could answer the question. Secondly, no I am not mistaken. If it was never dark (daytime all the time) then...

God and Goddess: A Question of Balance

I can only speak as an artist myself. I almost exclusively paint, create, etc. the female form. It's just what calls to me. Do you think that creativity can be seen as a more feminine (in the metaphorical sense) occupation? Even in men, perhaps this trait is a very feminine one? Just a thought. :)

God and Goddess: A Question of Balance

I know of quite a few places to find god-oriented craft items. Yes, the Goddess seems more prevalent in the craft world, but I think that has more to do with the fact that most crafters are women. Also, art across centuries has often leaned toward the female form than the male. I think I have...

God and Goddess: A Question of Balance

I'm not sure what you mean by what you see in other believers. Also, you're personal religion is one of the God. Do you find this to be imbalanced or the right fit for you?

God and Goddess: A Question of Balance

You're right it doesn't. But the same could be said for any reason someone might have to believe something. I believe what I believe because my heart tells me so, not because I read it somewhere or because someone told me it was true. Why do you believe what you believe?

God and Goddess: A Question of Balance

I think there is a definate understanding of deity being beyond gender. At the same time, some people do not feel the need for separation or polarity within their religion. In my opinon it is factual to say that the myth of the God/Son/Lover/Hunter can not exist outside of the myth of the...

The Trinity = A Gnostic Concept???

I think the original concept of the trinity comes from observing the moon and other cycles of nature. Lunar myths predate all other myths in most cultures, so to me this makes some sense.

    Is being stupid a sin?

If "god" made someone with a low mental capacity how could it possible be wrong? I don't believe in sin, but if I did I don't think stupidity would fall under it. If you're talking about the average person choosing not to use thier perfectly good brain - that's a tragedy not a sin.

How can you believe in God? And of the suffering earth.

There can be no goodness without "badness". I believe in the whole balance concept. We would have no idea what light was if there was no darkness. Everything that happens in this world has a purpose. It is a true test of faith to try to figure out what those purposes are without losing your mind.

    Goddess Monotheism

It's more like henotheism which in common language is an outer mystery of many deities with an inner mystery of one deity. Or maybe Monism.

    Goddess Monotheism

Okay, so their poly and mono at the same time. They see a polarity of male and female in deity - separated for individual worship - yet believe it is actually one entity. That makes sense.

What attributes do you love most in the Goddess?

Yes, as a matter of fact I believe in a Trinity of the Goddess that equals a single Deity - much like the Christian Trinity. I'm glad we've been able to clear up a few things for you. :) Thanks for wanting to know.

What attributes do you love most in the Goddess?

Not all Pagans are polytheistic, but it is possible to be both poly and mono at the same time. You could believe in a gazillion different faces, names, interpretations, etc. of Deity, but still believe it is one deity. Think of those prism crystal things that make rainbows when the light hits...

    Goddess Monotheism

I don't think so. The Church of Wicca is the center of the Correlian Trad I think. In their statments of belief they worship both God and Goddess.

    Goddess Worship

I think Nature is a book of wisdom - the Goddess' bible if you will. By observing the cycles and the processes of Nature we can learn more about her lessons and what her religion can teach us. This can be compared, in a way, to the philosophies of Zen which finds clues about existence in the...

What attributes do you love most in the Goddess?

The Maiden abolishes judgment. The Mother replaces it with compassion. The Crone brings us timeless wisdom. The All Goddess accepts us into herself and gives us Completion.
