    Free Will as Nonsense.

Certainly true. I am fond of Pinocchio. It may also be a fact that Pinocchio's nose grows when he lies. Which is why I sympathize with him.

    God's motives to torture

The idol of power has such a hold on some human minds that they prefer a God who is a mixture of good and evil, provided that he is powerful, to a God of love who governs only by the intrinsic authority of the Divine — by truth, beauty and goodness — i.e. they prefer a God who is actually...

    Nice Guy, This Christian God

Perhaps the ones who truly love you would disagree.

    Lost my job today.

^^^ A couple of years ago I was unemployed for nine months. It's like anything else there are periods where you think nothing will ever happen, then all of a sudden 3-4 possibilities appear on the horizon. Keep the faith and don't go to the dark place.

    Nice Guy, This Christian God

Why wait? My present situation may be the best indication of what my future situation will be, more or less. Not in the least. But then a rapid review of any belief system will likely not reveal whether its subtleties are consistent or inconsistent - including atheism.

Real Scientists vs New Atheists/Scientism on the Importance of Philosophy

Oh. There are too many fora at RF. I can't read this fast.

    Arguments for Atheism

Are people really saying that they need to define what a justified true belief signifies before they are able to argue for or against atheism?

For Christians. Was the flood real or just a myth?

Real or a myth? Surely if it is a myth it is more real than ordinary life.

    Free Will as Nonsense.

Jesus cured many of diseases and plagues and evil spirits, and on many that were blind he bestowed sight. And he answered them: Go and tell John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor...

    Evil

Then I suppose I may be fortunate that at least 51% of the population believes that torturing babies for fun is wrong behavior. Or that it is absolutely wrong to be intolerant. Etc. Are these coming philosophers new friends of “truth”? That is probable enough, for all philosophers so far have...

    Arguments for Atheism

[R]oyal crowns one after another lost their luster and were eclipsed after the imperial crown was eclipsed. Monarchies are unable to exist for long without the Monarchy; kings cannot apportion the crown and scepter of the Emperor among themselves and pose as emperors in their particular...

With Bros Like These…: Joseph Sold By His Brothers: Genesis 37:12-36

Gen 37:21 Upon this, Ruben began scheming to save Joseph from their violence; No, he said, 22 do not take his life, there must be no bloodshed. Throw him down into this well here, far from all help, and so keep clear of any murderous act. His meaning was to rescue Joseph out of their hands, and...
