Because that's what is going to happen or has happened. What scientific theory???? I just said 99% of experts said it's true
You said "Well, the rest of the universe put limits on human control and to do. That could be considered greater. I do."
And the examples you gave were.
'As for...
My evidence is that 99% of science experts say that the sun will swallow the Earth one day.
And that humans didn't needs wings to evolve.
How much more evidence do you need?
Please don't start this again.
So you think it's 'greater' that the sun may swallow the earth rather than it just part of the evolution of the Earth' life? Isn't this just normal, not greater?
Or that humans being unable to fly is 'greater' than it just evolving that way? Isn't this just...
We are part of gravity and time, it's not greater than us. We were able to evolve with it around us, didn't we? Its not greater than us, we are one. One big living organism.
And our evolution has allowed us to walk the Earth, and make choices rightly or wrongly which will determine our future...
I think these two examples of the universe as being greater are very good examples of a balanced universe.
It's simply the way things have evolved, the way it's suppose to be. We aren't meant to fly and if the sun swallows the Earth then so be it.
It doesn't mean anything about what's greater
I'm merely saying that human existence has the same worth as ants, all beings exist to help with a balanced world. Do you agree?
And, I don't think the universe is greater, we are just part of the universe, our place is where we are however you said there are things in the universe which are...
No I don't think the universe is greater, we are just part of the universe, our place is where we are.
So you think humanity is greater than an ant colony for example?
Our place in the universe, namely our place on Earth (for the time being) humans should aim to ensure that there is not too much give or too much take, balance. For example, humanities influence on the balance of nature
Yes true but I don't think it will be too long before we can measure and explain why we feel certain things, relatively speaking.
Shame, I don't have to
No, I didn't say humans are more important then anything else, I said they are just as important as everything else, part of a balanced universe.
And I don't recognise there are powers and forces greater than humanity (unless referring to literal meaning of natural forces) because those forces...
When we are talking about how we got here, I think science does a pretty good job, we come from cells born out of the Big Bang, our DNA and environment act as a guide to our life and then our cells die and go back into the universe.
I know science can't answer everything such as philosophy and...
No, I think humans are not omnimax and are a part of a complex set of systems/organisms, nothing more or less.
You said '....the one common denominator for this particular sort of relationship is gods are that which are fundamentally greater. Because powers and forces that are...
Yeah, these sort of things below just seem a little 'out there' especially for younger people. Personally I find the bible to be very abstract, hard to understand
Something in one's imagination, often derived from society (Often thousands of years a go)
To make people feel better about themselves and understand the world
And here seems to be a problem, god's forces and powers seemingly greater than human................it might seem like that, but...
I don't want to sound rude and apologise if it does.
However, all these 'writings' are just so meaningless to so many people, just blah blah blah and I think this does not help with religion becoming more important but the opposite.
Maybe if religion teachings related to people more it would...
