    He has been convicted - and he hasn't appealed all convictions, yet. (But that is a technicality.) That is just more reason to wish him a long life. He owes a lot of people money, and he owes the US people to restore trust in their justice system.

    I'm all for adhering to the rules - and for teaching those who won't. But when the majority of players decides to change the rules, you have to play by the new rules, otherwise you lose. And you have to win to make the rule-changers realize that the old rules were better.

    It's not only that they see it as being wrong, they try (and sometimes succeed) to legislate their beliefs. And some are really open about their hate. Of course, it's not all Christians. There is so little that all Christians have in common that the classification is basically meaningless.

    There is a discussion ongoing to try to ban the AfD. That is possible in Germany if a party is declared unconstitutional, though it only ever happened once in the history since 1945.

    Panem et circenses, usually translated as bread and circuses, in German it's bread and games. Better would be bread and entertainment or bread and distraction. The idea is that people who have a full stomach and something that prevents them from thinking about their condition, don't revolt.
