I just got an email from my electricity supplier announcing that my electricity prices are "evolving". They don't say increasing, or going higher. This is all very diplomatic and proper. The rates are "evolving", as if having to pay an extra 10% per month is a good thing...
Everything should be at a balance. We need a certain degree of individualism, but when the line is crossed to "all I care about is my own benefit and nothing/no one else is important" the result is pure selfishness and nothing good comes out of that.

I think seats are there for people to seat. Not allowing someone else to have that seat is just rude. I take public transportation regularly and most people are just normal passengers. I've had a few annoy me, but it's rare. Most people are fine.

Like Christine said, in France a lot of restrooms are unisex. It's never been a problem for anyone. Just lock the door while you're doing your business and wash your hands afterwards please.
