That was one of the things that kind of made me dislike Watt's stuff. For all his knowledge he didn't seem to practice what he preached about living a better life.
Yeah he was one of those guys I really liked in the beginning when I was first looking into eastern philosophies but the more knowledge I gained the more I found him lacking.

I've met a number of people over the years that have loved Alan Watts. I've also met a good number of people who think Alan Watts is nothing more than a fraud who knew close to nothing about what he was talking about.

I used @1137 's thing to make my own thing. It's like hijacking a thread but instead of actually hijacking it we built a very similar thread right next door.
I kind of fall into the category because as far as I can tell there is no reason to believe in anything other than the physical. Then again you might argue that it is weird to even try and look for empiricist evidence of something none physical so yeah.
I don't know what has tempted me to do this but recently while reading various religious texts ( bagavad gita, greek myths, bible, tao te ching and various books on Shinto) for the last few days I've been more or less listening to this on loop.

I would suggest you do a bit more research on Islamic spain, it was not a paradise of tolerance by any means. Books like the myth of Andalusian paradise show how this is pretty much pure fiction. Then again it seems people are more inclined to believe pretty lies than hard truths.
