Difficulties when it comes to Polytheism and me.

I have really strict principles and I am a naturalist. I don't see why you don't like Harris and Dawkins though. They are not my favorite Horsemen but they still have some good things to say. I would recommend looking at the arguments of Daniel Dennet, he comes from a philosophy background...

Is a person a Christian if...

So you obviously believe in all of the holy books that they rejected right? I didn't say that they wrote the Bible. They simply chose the books that got in. BTW if you followed that scripture then you would not even call your father father.

Is a person a Christian if...

Yeah it's just a coincidence that you only believe in the doctorines and books put forth by that council. Also Catholics are a type of Christian.

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

If you knew what scripture to follow, then you knew right and wrong. Do you just need convincing that doing what is right is rewarding? By that logic my mind is a god.

Many early Yeshua based religions did this. But the term Christian typically refers to those who accept the rulings of the Council of Nicaea.

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

How do you know it was them and not you? But you know what is right and wrong without religion or god. How can you tell what scripture is good and what is bad otherwise? Of course those are good things. But they are not unique to scripture.

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

Isn't being good it's own reward? If you dislike being bad and knew that you where being bad, then why do you need god to recognize that? If you have issues with scripture then why follow any of it? Why call it god?

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

I think that my greatest fear is bringing harm to others. And I have done it in the past to my great shame.

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

If much of the scripture is wrong then can it be divinely inspired?

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

I just realized that i wrongly assumed Deidre's gender. I apologize for that Deidre, I meant no disrespect. But I find it suspect that you call all of your good emotions "god" and all of your bad emotions you. I suspect that this may be why you seem to underestimate your own value as a person.

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

I find that unlikely. Because that same voice tells me that the god of the bible is evil.

    Robert Pirsig Passes

I hope that he lived a good life and that he rests in peace. His influence will live on in our memories of him and the deeds he has done. I hope we take solace in knowing that our deaths make way for a new generation to experience life.

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

Do you mean a basic human conscience?
  16. CogentPhilosopher

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

So you want him to do well and attributed that to your deity?

    Physics Meets Paranormal

You would just call any question which goes against your beliefs disrespectful.

Has your greatest fear ever really come true?

Then surely he would have provided some proof that he speaks through you. After all he wouldn't want us to think you where like all of the other people who claim to speak for him.
