I have really strict principles and I am a naturalist.
I don't see why you don't like Harris and Dawkins though. They are not my favorite Horsemen but they still have some good things to say.
I would recommend looking at the arguments of Daniel Dennet, he comes from a philosophy background...
So you obviously believe in all of the holy books that they rejected right?
I didn't say that they wrote the Bible.
They simply chose the books that got in.
BTW if you followed that scripture then you would not even call your father father.
If you knew what scripture to follow, then you knew right and wrong.
Do you just need convincing that doing what is right is rewarding?
By that logic my mind is a god.
How do you know it was them and not you?
But you know what is right and wrong without religion or god.
How can you tell what scripture is good and what is bad otherwise?
Of course those are good things. But they are not unique to scripture.
Isn't being good it's own reward?
If you dislike being bad and knew that you where being bad, then why do you need god to recognize that?
If you have issues with scripture then why follow any of it?
Why call it god?
I just realized that i wrongly assumed Deidre's gender.
I apologize for that Deidre, I meant no disrespect.
But I find it suspect that you call all of your good emotions "god" and all of your bad emotions you.
I suspect that this may be why you seem to underestimate your own value as a person.
I hope that he lived a good life and that he rests in peace.
His influence will live on in our memories of him and the deeds he has done.
I hope we take solace in knowing that our deaths make way for a new generation to experience life.
Then surely he would have provided some proof that he speaks through you. After all he wouldn't want us to think you where like all of the other people who claim to speak for him.
