I think the video misses an important point though. It's not Islam that needs to reform, but humanity. Humanity needs to reform so that we can live in a world without religion (but not necessarily without faiths or spirituality- although that should certainly be the ideal).
Genes, to a degree, give us a propensity toward certain kinds of behaviour, but at the same time a lot of our behaviour is as the result of our experiences and influences throughout life as we go up. Human beings, like any other creature, are responding organisms. We respond to stimuli. If we...
My usual (joking to wind them up) response is that meat eaters are doing their bit for the environment. Without us, we'd be overrun with cows, and all that poopy methane will have a runaway effect on greenhouse gases!
Poopy Methane™

The reason trump is the best President for the US is exactly because he'll be the worst. He'll ruin the economy (what's left of it) alienate allies, and probably end up betraying the rights of very many...
You do realise I wasn't being all that serious about it, right? :P
But I suppose if you consider all creatures upon the earth 'Earthlings' then yeah. But that's just Semantic Word Magic (As Korzybski would call it).

I think that the view merely makes the conceited assumption that human beings are somehow above nature, and not a part of it. We eat meat, so do other animals. We are all part of nature.
A friend of mine, tonight, said that 'eating meat is no different to cannibalism.' She's a vegan. I tried to explain that comparing the eating of meat to the eating of humans is a little drastic, and that there are several very good scientific reasons why the comparison is a false one.
