Well I don't stand on any of it (outside of any religious conviction). I respect the LGBT community, but I don't pretty much agree with marriage, I guess it's part of my culture, that's why.
Sure, I can see a lot of difference from the quran and the bible, and much of similarities with ancient beliefs deemed as heresy (as well as from the apocryphal 'gospels') by early christians. No offense intended, just my opinion.
Having arguments or difference of beliefs or lack of it, doesn't mean both parties cannot be acquainted with each other. Neither does it mean 'disrespect'. I just don't know the case with the republicans and democrats.

"Religion" involves belief in a supreme being called god or gods. Same time, it involves beliefs on something supernatural (like miracles and stuff). Atheism simply don't. We don't proselytize either trying to 'push' people on a belief system, else, you'll end up in hell or stuff like that...
