I love it so much. I think its wonderful to be able to be free and do as I please. Yet. With the freedom this religion has and the lack of there being a local Kindred, I feel really empty with it... I would go to one of the churches around here to fill that gap, but I truthfully don't agree...
It is true that Christianity is Eastern in origin, but it's become a western religion. You have lots of good points, but I was just saying how similar the Unity sect is with Buddhism, not the whole of Christianity.
Among other Eastern religions, but the Unity Church goes as far as saying (not literally but technically) Jesus was just like Buddha and that we all have an inner Christ.. I like Unity because it gives people more into Western style religions a doorway into the Eastern religions. Yet this is...
Sikhism to me is a religion, but Buddhism a philosophy, Sikhism is a way of worship, Buddhism is a way to enlightenment. Enlightenment can be reached in my opinion, via religion alone, but a philosophy like the one of the Buddha definitely helps. What is everyone else's view of this? Guru...
Depends if slitting the throat of a free range chicken in the name of Tyr is considered ritual slaughter. Lmao I almost puked doing it. I can't kill at all! Good thing I wasn't born a Viking raider!
Just to comment on the last name part, simple, a name can hold little to no meaning of where you come from. That doesn't mean it isn't a valid starting point though! My last name is English, but I have hardly any English blood in me and am mostly Irish, Scottish, Basque, some French, German...
I really like how Nietzsche says how they accept our best, and that really shows when they don't care that our ancestors converted to Christianity, because they knew that we were still kin! They knew that we were the Asatruars still. Somewhere deep within!
My reply? Well I do like the Unity movement, but not in a Christian sense, more in line with Judaism but seeing Jesus as enlightened. I also like Quakerism, the RSF is awesome.
Don't say that! I say stupid things 24/7 on here. I make myself look like a total fool, and plus Unity is a lesser know group. It's like how most people don't know that there are different Buddhist denominations or people don't know what Jainism is lol.
The beauty of both groups is that they have no dogma or creed and aren't necessarily Christian, most Unity people I know don't support the Trinity btw. I asked them the same question on fb and they said they'll pull up the file they have on it. Pretty cool people.
