Sometimes, depends how far I get into it, I usually study scripture if I can and talk to other ppl of that religion, I usually decide against it before going further though. Not saying I wouldn't go to their places of worship because if I'm allowed, I will gladly go for the experience!

Many people feel as if they "perform" their religion correctly, that God (whoever they deem him to be) will automatically accept them. The only problem with that thinking is that God is not who man defines him to be. He does not take the shape or appearance in accord with the whims of men. It is God who tells us who he is....and it is we who must conform to his ways...not vice versa.

A person's religious beliefs will mean the difference between continuing life and eternal death according to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Most people think of Christendom's teachings as Christianity, but that could not be further from the truth. If you have explored only Christendom's version of Christ's teachings, then you will not have a single one of them that has not been corrupted. Jesus foretold that this would happen, yet Christendom pretends that it never happened.

The Bible is our teacher. What Christ taught is in the scriptures. Study them with someone who is a reliable guide and God will lead you to his truth. It is one logical story from beginning to end.....and it ends where it began, for the simple reason that Jesus came to give us back what Adam lost for his children.....not in heaven, but for the majority of mankind, this will be in paradise conditions on earth....the place where man was given as his home in the beginning.

Most people are so hung up about going to heaven that they forget that that this was not in God's original purpose for man.

Ask all the questions you need to ask and ponder the answers carefully....your heart will lead you to where you need to be.

Good advice.

All it takes is a look in the mirror for starters. A lot of it, while useful for looking at insight and experiences of others, tends to be extremely confining perchance you happen to follow what others do and subsequently place upon yourself a form of a dogma. It only goes so far many cases.

perhaps a more polytheistic religion would be more your speed. I myself am a Polytheist and I connect very deeply within nature.

All religions ''feel wrong,'' because they are man made, which is why they all differ from culture to culture, region to region, person to person. You don't need any religion, and your life will make more sense that way, than trying to fit your experiences and your worldview into a pre-packaged religious worldview.

It all had to be created: Look to nature to reason. Everything on earth needs something to live. The earth supplies what is needed to every living thing. God knew well in advance, humans would need proof. Gods first words in the Bible start with proof. This past year science said: “We now know what the universe is made of…TIME, SPACE and MATTER.”

The first words in the Bible say, “God created (time) the universe(space) and the earth(matter.)

There are many prophesies in the Bible that have come true. Those that have not, are for the future.

Which religion to follow? None. All religions are manmade, and do not teach the truth from the Bible. The Bible was taken from scrolls. The two should match…they do not. There are many places that have been changed.

Jesus gave one one thing a human need do to have everlasting life. Believe he was sent by God, and that he is the son of God.

Need help learning what is true, and what is not? Ask God, he will show you the truth.

My reply? Well I do like the Unity movement, but not in a Christian sense, more in line with Judaism but seeing Jesus as enlightened. I also like Quakerism, the RSF is awesome.

The water you drink for life is made of the atom. Yet people say, "There is no God." God says, "Those who reject his son Jesus, he will turn their atoms into fertilizer, and fertilize the earth with them." Not one atom will be wasted.
Man can't make metal from atoms, or a piece of wood. Neither can he make a fish, or one hair, no, man cant build things from atoms. he can split the atom, but he can not Create one. Yes, there are those who say, "Someday. man will master the atom, and create things as God does."
Did I not read somewhere? Did not a creature say, "Take this fruit, and your eyes will be open, and you will be like God." Is he still saying that?

I recommend Buddhism to everyone, since I believe it works. On the other hand, it's not necessarily an exclusive practice or one that will satisfy all of everyone's religious needs. It tends to blend with native religious practices to some extent wherever it goes, and that's fine. Daoism is a very close cousin, as there has been a lot of cross-pollination over the centuries in China.

It really just depends what you're looking for and why. Religions are all constructed by human minds to serve human circumstances. But people's individual circumstances are different. There's also the fact that trying too hard with any one of them can end up feeling artificial. In the meantime, it's OK to be a syncretic dilettante while you figure out what works for you. People in ancient times were mostly like that, actually. It's only in the modern day, post-Christianity, that people think of religions as these closed systems that are mutually exclusive. My avatar, a kind of Buddhist cross, is meant to remind me of that, lest I forget.

It might also help to think of religion as a set of practices, not an identity. You're looking for things to do, not something to be. You are already who you are, and religious affiliation won't change that except in the most superficial sense. Best wishes.

There are mainly two paths to reach the divine. One is purifying yourself, other is through relationship.
