What about the world today indicates to apocalyptic Christians that this is the actual end time?

You're a Catholic though, so I'm sure you must be aware that there are views of the Parousia that don't involve a literal return at all. I believe Pierre Teilhard de Chardin for example believed in an unfolding of the kingdom on earth as time goes on. Coincidentally, I'm only aware of de Chardin...

SCOTUS denies PA Republican appeal: Redistricting

Well you know something isn't right with our electoral process when the religious right keeps getting victories it shouldn't get. I'd say gerrymandering plays a big part in it. What I mean by knowing something is wrong, is America is no longer so Evangelical or Republican. I look at Pew...

SCOTUS denies PA Republican appeal: Redistricting

Somehow I do not doubt that, and wasn't the NC redistricting blocked?

SCOTUS denies PA Republican appeal: Redistricting

That is a fair point. Believe me, I'm not thrilled about our two party system myself. I wish the Socialist Party USA had a snowball's chance in Tartarus of winning anything. I used to be Green, but then the party did things I couldn't agree with, so I switched back to Democrat.

    Peace on Earth?

This is also a good way of stating things.

    Peace on Earth?

I am actually glad you asked this, friend @Vouthon It is possible. Buddhism acknowledges humans are capable of great good, under the right circumstances. Right effort is a big part of it. That being said... My beliefs acknowledge that humans have a terrible condition. It may or may not be...

How is 'not accepting the act' a true acceptance of homosexuality?

I don't think all Christians wish to do that, just to clarify before we continue. I wouldn't want to give that impression. Many Christians are wonderful, actually caring people. I think the homosexual issue as you call it can't be separated out from the wider purview. It's part of it. That's...

Trump leaves Blue Dress behind a la Clinton

@It Aint Necessarily So I'm glad you and your family were able to relocate. I am currently not able and soon to be caring for my aging mother as we go forward together without my stepfather in our lives. I'd do just about anything for my mother.

Why the Double Standard on Jesus and Allah U.K.?

I went on your standard that the speech seems likely to incite violence. In this case it wasn't merely likely. It actually did.

SCOTUS denies PA Republican appeal: Redistricting

Source: SCOTUS rejects GOP plea to block Pennsylvania maps - CNNPolitics Do you think the ruling was fair? Do you buy the claim that districts have been unfairly gerrymandered in several states? Was this ruling appropriate? Was it out of bounds? Explain.

In your belief why God created us

Well you could try addressing how the monotheistic worldview handles suffering... For the record, I don't blame any god for suffering in the world.

Why the Double Standard on Jesus and Allah U.K.?

Apparently that used to be the case, but not anymore. Now a bright young woman in the prime of life can get plowed down by a bigot in the light of day because white supremacists wanted to have a march and the federal government does nothing. The president offered the thought that he's sure there...
