If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

according to you. according to you again. A God that has limitless power can also design a covenant that's binding for him. It's as simple as that. I propose God's restricted omnipotence. Regardless of what he is depicted by wise men...

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

we are not supposed to kill as God does. God killed billions of people in restricting man's life span to 120 years. No, we as humans should not play God and go ahead and restrict the life span any further. That's a no no. It is a doctrine that says "be like God"... but it's not biblical as I...

    Culture and god

Let me tell you (as a musician who has a CV full of failures ) there is no fallacy. I try to make music for the masses. When nobody likes my music, I must have done something wrong. There is no third way. Of course now you might think "but Van Gogh...". I know this example but this is one...

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

ok, hands down, but I do hold that the Bible God did not act in an immature way.

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

I don't agree here. Neither with the quote, nor with your initial phrase.

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

Jesus said follow me as he was fully human. In that circumstance he said so. This does not mean we should pretend to be like God now, I think. Jesus accepted God as the referee - Jesus also died at the cross - so should we do. + no and no. The example with the referee still stands. No need to...

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

Jesus had normal emotions, so I conclude it makes sense God also has them. If this is normal for him I can't say. even if this were to make perfect sense, being jealous in relationships up to a certain degree also makes sense, I think. Limited to a certain time, jealousy makes perfect sense, I...

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

no, I did consider the facts here. I said in post #9 (which was directed to you and another poster) that it is my assumption she could have known, this was part of the underlying assumptions. I am not keen to spread rumors, and I did not spread rumors. There is no irony.

    Culture and god

it isn't limited to my perception though. Ask a hundred random people and I bet a majority would say "beautiful". So, this counts as evidence for a loving God, as I see it. By the way this isn't proof, though. Proof is for alcohol and math.

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

Actually I did not ignore anything that you have said. But I might have missed your point. Before I ascribe untruth to the Bible God I mean untruth to what the Bible teaches, I tend to mistrust my own feelings instead. they meant it to have something to do with that one. So in their...

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

He did have emotions, normal ones... but no flaws. (this may count as a reply to you @IndigoChild5559 , too) Emotions are not to be put into the same category as flaws, I think. Limitations should not be put into the same category as flaws, either, I think. Emotions and limitations yes. Flaws...

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

If I understand right, these two posts are the same Let me cite the Golden Calf then. In the Bible, for God it was just as bad as idolatry. However, it was a sincere prayer to Yahweh himself. Yahweh detested it.

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

I believe it's ok up to a certain degree within a strong partnership in a couple. I don't have one, though. But I hear people say "I want to be desired", which implies some sort of disappointment when the person goes or would go to another lover.

so it's spreading rumors then. Also, she could have known better. It's like spreading rumors about Covid during Covid crisis. Rumor spreading can be very harmful in politics, too.

    Don't lie to me...

actually this was the context of it: and then you said in your next post replying to what Ken wrote in resonse to the above quote: To my observation, the world behaves exactly as if God were only an idea held by an individual. so I conclude: you referred to the Almighty. Be it an idea or not...

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

I don't say anything against Hinduism here. This thread started off by assuming the Bible God is real. That was the premise of this thread. I wanted to see where this leads us. So under this premise, it's wasted food of course. Again under this premise taking part on a discussion board makes...

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

hw's it in sports? Can a player send another player off the pitch? A referee can. YOu couls ask the same questions here: sending people off the pitch is good of you're a referee but bad if you're a player? Now you want equal rights for all? You can't have referees then. The first thing many...

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

any judiciary system that's working is not abusive. A working judiciary system also has prisons and I don't see where it loves their prisons, fines and so on. And yet it's working. Same with God, nothing abusive there. He is entitled to punish, in my view. Do you also hate referees in sports...

no, he was a normal guy, he used to have natural emotions, and yet sinless.

If God exists, is there a problem with offerings to other gods?

no husband in the world can create a wife, make it possible she lives under a wonderful sky every day... and shine his sun, I mean the real one, on her. @RayofLight , in my opinion, noone can compare the richness of God's gifts to us... to anything a husband could potentially do.
