    THE BIBLE’S VIEWPOINT of CREATION

"There was evening, and there was morning; the first day." "There was evening, and there was morning; the second day." Sounds like literal 24 hour days to me. And what is the scientific classification of "kind"? I've never seen that explained. What I'm getting out of this, basically, is...

    Koans and the great doubt

I had never read that sutta before, I like it. It really goes along with the koan.

    Koans and the great doubt

    It wasn't Hakuin, but Hanshan.

    Koans and the great doubt

Hsuan Hua, and I think Hakuin taught it, but I'll have to check.

    Koans and the great doubt

One of my primary practices is investigating koans, specifically, hua tou. One of the first things that one is supposed to achieve is great doubt. What is this great doubt?

"A Warning to Sikh Youths & Hindu Youths"

Sounds like average fair to me. Unfortunately, this is the way many Muslims, and not just Muslims, but Abrahamics, think. I realize there are many that don't, but this does seem to be a common theme in predominantly Abrahamic areas.

    What is Buddhism's end goal?

"a life-affirming philosophy that seeks to escape an existence dominated by suffering." There we go. :)

What was the American Revolution really about?

What I don't understand, is how people can look at what we've been told the early Americans fought for, things like freedom, a government ruled by the people, etc., and today let our government do the same things we accused the British of back then.

    Republicans: our ever-evolving creationists

I'm not one to spout conspiracies, but it seems to me that Republicans attempting to keep the intelligence levels low is their way of trying to keep people in line. If people are dumb, and don't know how to analyze and think critically, they'll have more people to vote for them, which is why...

    Feigning beliefs during extraordinary times

I agree with Windwalker. Just be someone to listen, without offering any advice. Sometimes, we can speak volumes by remaining silent.

    Nagarjuna's Mula madhyamaka karika

Alot of people, Buddhist or not, would be surprised to find out just how much of Mahayana and Vajrayana comes from the Pali Canon.

    Interview A Tantric Shaiva

Quick question, well, maybe two: from my understanding, Shaivism is non-dualistic, is this correct? If so, what are some major similarities and differences between Shaivism and Advaita?

    The Christians in Burma

We've heard alot about the events between the Buddhists and Muslims in Burma, but here's something that I've recently come across, and wanted to make known. Apparently, back in '98, a Buddhist monk named Athet Pyan Shinthaw Paulu, died. For three days, he was in the Christian hell, where he...
