There are people who never turn to Christ. Does turning to Christ make a difference?
Forgiveness of personal sins is conditional in LDS teaching. God, according to LDS teaching, cannot bless a person with forgiveness unless the person goes and sins no more.
"There is a law, irrevocably...
Doctrine and Covenants 58
42 Behold, he who has repented of his sins, the same is forgiven, and I, the Lord, remember them no more.
43 By this ye may know if a man repenteth of his sins—behold, he will confess them and forsake them.
Matthew 6
14For if ye forgive men their trespasses...
Does the Bible mention a type of salvation for individuals that exists outside of spending eternity with our Heavenly Father?
And, yes, a good question is, "What did the person and work of Christ actually accompish?" Perhaps a Mormon(LDS) will give us the official LDS answer.
I was talking about the possibility that the verse doesn't mean what most people assume it means. Another possibility is that women were asking questions during the service.
1 Corinthians 14
30If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31For ye may...
It might very well be a lack of understanding of the verse. Perhaps the women were whispering to each other during the worship service and they were to stop causing a disturbance. I find it annoying if the people behind me keep whispering while I'm trying to hear the sermon.
Perhaps there are Protestants who are familiar with Mormonism. Feel free to post to this thread. And I invite LDS to participate as well.
The Atonement, according to LDS beliefs, absolves all mankind from Adam's transgression in the Garden of Eden. Because of the Atonement, all mankind...
God is the absolute Truth but He alone can reveal Himself in a way that causes a person to believe in Him.
John 14
6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Matthew 16
15He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
16And...
The Bible repeatedly points us to Christ. He is the way, the truth and the life. We must be born again by God. We should love the Lord our God with our thy hearts, and with all our souls, and with all our minds. So if you have been born again, you will be led by the Holy Spirit. Since doctrine...
Here you go, Watchmen:

By the way, I don't reject the Bible. I accept Hebrews 6, but I don't recall any verse that says it is necessary to lay on hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. God is not limited to that...
It was requested by a Latter-day Saint on the Christians: I intend to watch Passion of the Christ tonight for the first time thread, that I start a new thread to discuss the LDS view of the Atonement of Christ.
According to what I've read, current LDS teaching is that the Atonement took place...
I didn't try to make it sound like anything. I attempted to present a factual representation. If you don't agree, that's your perogative, but I suggest that you show us the verses in the Bible that prove LDS temple marriage is biblical.
I'm sorry that you're taking offence of my use of the term "LDS Gospel." Knowing that we do not hold the same beliefs and that LDS consider non-LDS churches apostate, I used the term to distinguish between our two teachings. The laws and ordinances of your church are considered established by...
I do not recall being disrepectful to Mormons or telling them that they believe in a fake Christ nor have I said that LDS hate the Bible; I have quoted the Book of Mormon's position about the Bible. If the Book of Mormon doesn't give an accurate portrayal of LDS beliefs about the Bible, I'd...
I would like to add that current LDS teaching is that the Atonement took place in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross. But that is not what I was reading in Katzpur's statement.
Further the Atonement is considered payment for the Fall that occurred in the Garden of Eden and allows all...
Watchmen, do you agree with what Katzpur said, "We LDS are definitely not trying to minimize His actual death by crucifixion, but just to stress that it was not on the cross where the transfer of guilt took place," or do you believe that Jesus death on the cross was the propitiation for the...
If I ask for an explanation or clarification, it means that I want to understand. You don't have to believe that I want to understand, but it would be kind of people to not speak about others in a negative way without at least clarifying what it was that made the LDS angry.
Some LDS people like to say I twist statements by LDS, but they aren't willing to show any of us how I have twisted anything. Because I happen to be knowledgable, while I admit that I don't everything about Mormonism, people make wild accusations without bothering to explain what I specifically...
You already disagreed with the Bible which says that Christ paid for our sins on the cross.
So you are criticizing my posts in general without any specifics. IOW, you just might be predjudiced without anything to base it on other than the fact that we disagree on what is God-breathed.
Do...
