    The Monopoly of Religious Believers

No, not at all. What I mean is that religious believers (those who have a god) believe they some how have the monopoly on benevolence and don't seem to even believe that someone who is an atheist has any moral standing or ethics on how to behave towards others or conduct themselves in an...

    The Monopoly of Religious Believers

Yes indeed, it seems to me at times that without religion the believer is somewhat incapable of taking responsibility for themselves and off loading it on one God or another.

    The Monopoly of Religious Believers

Why is it that the religious believer believes they have the monopoly on being the only people who can be kind and benevolent to others?

Surely the world we live in proves there is no [loving] God.

Not all human beings are "peaceful creatures" are they FG? No, some human beings believe they are loftier than others and more powerful, which is true unfortunately and some of the more powerful simply want more power which is usually driven by greed. The gods are no different, we were after...

No, they have questions that need answering, and only then can they have an opinion. If the didn't care would they have asked in the first instance? Pegg

No the bible tells us what the gods deemed we only need to know according to many here, so this is not to say it tells us the whole truth or puts us in the picture in any way. Hence all the awkward questions many religious bible studiers evade like a plague.

Surely the world we live in proves there is no [loving] God.

The apologist will no doubt point out to you the book of Job. Particularly Jobs test. I think this was a terrible thing to do for a bet and the amusement of the Gods. Read this and see what a sadistic pair these two are: Job kept asking what he had done to deserve this sadistic treatment...

Aminals die its nature, humans die it's bad God

    Yes, I imagine that was this Gods worrying concern; Adam and Eve had had their eyes opened to what kind unbalanced individuals these gods could be and maybe started to ask too many questions. Genesis 3:22. Maybe that was yet another mistranslation and should read;

Yes I remember your question but thought I had answered it in the same reply to this question from Revoltingest, when he asked I replied> So sorry I didn’t reply to you direct 4C. I was expelled for being too “disruptive” in causing others to start asking their own awkward questions. Hope...

 I meant Jay Jay was being or is ignorant to, the fact of there being other evidences outside of the bible to actually support and fill in what appear to be gaping holes in those biblical stories. It was not a direct insult as in -‘ jay jay is an ignorant pig’, -. I am the...

No I mean Astronomy. The movement of the planets ect. They (the priests and wise men) understood that when certain planets appeared in certain combinations against a backdrop of certain constellations that things would happen on, and to the earth, and that they have a force on the earth. They...

I notice he told his menfolk to keep the child virgin girls for themselves! So it is me then now is it? I see, so those words from Numbers 31:17-18 have been interpreted wrongly by me, Jay jay? If that is the best you can do to defend the actions of this megalomaniac god of yours, I think that...

    hello, new member 1st post

The point is this god wanted it his way, or you die. It has nothing to do with the so called christian message of love your neighbor and give your clothes away to the poor does it, and lets us not forget the classic "turn the other cheek"? It doesn't make me laugh one little bit that this...

    hello, new member 1st post

That is exactly what I mean, Jay Jay. And it is here I believe astronomy comes into it in a strong way. You have inadvertently touched on it here when you mentioned; This is exactly what happened at the time of Moses too, and it also happened when the God of the Moses’ time had come to an end...

    hello, new member 1st post

But has it come down to us as it was originally written? And that was a point I made at the beginning of this thread post 18 page (2). I have never suggested the Catholics did. What I have suggested is that the scriptures have been doctored (added to and taken away from) by the early and...

The bible cannon, chosen by whom? This shows a closed and indoctrinated mind to me, Jay Jay. The O.T. story is the same as the Sumerian cuneiform tablets in almost every detail. Some of these epics have been discovered in their entirety. Like I have mentioned concerning some of the names...

    hello, new member 1st post

Reading about Josephus is one thing. Reading Josephus’ works written by Josephus is another. Well now you’re talking about context and interpretation aren't you (you are assuming)? I find it odd that all through the episode of the so called “fall of man” that this god...
