Thank you for the “likes” to my country and people.
But, what makes you think that the Greeks (and almost all ancient civilizations, for that matter) got it wrong about what happens to the soul after death?
Because the Bible says so?
What if the Bible is wrong and the Jews understood that at...
As a Greek, I resent that. In so many levels.
I had a near death experience when I flat-lined for 3 minutes after surgery, in the recovery room. My experience had nothing to do with what you describe. And I found out that I’m not the only one. So, how about that?

It is said that one of the greatest fears of man (if not THE greatest) is that of death.
Some people will agree others will say that they are not really afraid of death.
Either way, I think that all of us have, at least once in our lives, thought about what could be the worse scenario...
Who made us this way?
Who made them?
So, in short:
God screwed up, tried to fix it in the past with Noah’s flood (and some occasional incidents, like the Sodom and Gomorrah story), failed and will try again to fix it in the future… sometime… maybe… who knows when and if… and if He will get...
I disagree.
But before debating on that, first I'd like to ask WHY did God waited soooo long to send his Son.
According to the Biblical calculations, Jesus was sent to mankind approx. 6000 years AFTER the creation of Adam (and the original sin, of course).
So, why wait that long?

Directly from the original:
Εν αρχή ήτο ο Λόγος, και ο Λόγος ήτο παρά τω Θεώ, και Θεός ήτο ο Λόγος.
Which translates to:
“In the beginning there was the Word, and the Word was towards God, and God was the Word”
Directly from the original:
Αυτός ήταν στην αρχή προς τον Θεό
Which translates...

That’s one of my fav topics and I don’t care that it’s 12 years old. I’m resurrecting it :D
Yes, please! :clapping:
John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
...and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.
BTW, let us keep in mind that the...
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Care to tell that to all children that are growing up in war zones or have no water/food/heath care or have serious health problems or born with disabilities or living with abusive parents, etc?
Yes, we have all read Genesis, the question is WHY?
According to Genesis, it seems to me that God just needs… maintenance workers? Is that what we are?

So, some people are good and others are bad… What else is new? :D
~~~
That makes sense :)
I 100% agree :)
I probably wouldn’t go that far.
IMO, Peter was called “the rock” on which Jesus would build his church, because he is the perfect example of the kind of people Jesus wanted to...
Thank you! :)
Isn’t it interesting that the zodiac with the sun in the middle it “came into style” for the synagogues around the same period that Christianity sprang…?
Is it possible there is a connection there?
~~~
But the debate here is: did he really choose on his own or was he forced in one direction?
This is an assumption. There is no such reference in the Gospels. According to the Gospels, his “crime” was that he declared himself “son of God” or “Messiah”.
And BTW, where do you get the “two years...
Thank you for the insight :)
OK, but I’m talking about the mosaics in the synagogues.

What’s that, people? o_O

These are interesting information! Please elaborate?

I don’t. It’s just for the sake of argument.
Personally I’m more Zen on this subject: “life is meaningless. And the only thing that means, is that you are given the chance to fill it with meaning” ;)
This could be from any Monotheistic viewpoint, not just Christian.
Actually, this could be...
Which God?
Interesting question.
Just for the sake of conversation, let us take for granted that there is an Intelligent Supreme Creator.
It is really confusing why a deity would create something just to see it go through a bunch of troubles to end up somewhere that could be there from the...
