There is a difference between challenging ideas and challenging people.
If I say this idea is ridiculous, it's different from you are ridiculous to share this idea.
Look around in the media if there is such a difference. You might consider it political correctness, but still, it might be more...
I heard this argument before. Sine atheist cannot do bad in the name of, it's O.K. It seems a a little bit easy. If an atheist did something wrong, that's O.K since he didnt do it in the name of, and a religious guy, his religion is responsible.
But maybe the essence of atheist can lead to bad...
It was a catchy title. I didn't speak about atheists, but atheism. Even after that I didn't attack people, but challanged arguments. I think I was respectful, and I didn't always receive that respect, back ( I am not talking about you, of course)
I have a Rabbi's diploma and a college degree, and more. But I do admit that i didn't learn much philosophy, except in high school. I was more attracted by natural sciences.
But what difference does it make, anyway?
Very hard to have a decent, and smart discussion, if after an argument, we get : maybe you are in a matrix and all those B.S.
But all those stupid arguments may not prevent a person from his/her moral obligation
Imagine in a trial: You robbed a bank and you are guilty. No judge, my brain was...
Are you trying to say that I cannot know that 1+1=2 One apple and another apple makes 2 apples.
If we are arguing with basic logic, axioms, what's the point of arguing? Why learning mathematics, if at the end one will say: maybe not . Maybe one plus one equal equal 7 or equal dffjrjtjgjjfjfj
I...
It could be that there are things that one can be sure 100% : I know that I am writing now on my computer, and I know I am not dreaming, and not in a matrix, or not some other crazy doubts.
And there are things that a person may hold it for true, but isn't sure 100%: A man enters his house, and...
You wrote:If you believe, then it's 100%. If it's anything less than 100%, then it means that you don't believe
That was not my intention. I think you can be a believer with doubts and its less than 100%.
I just wrote, that my belief is 100%, not a shadow of a doubt. I dont even interstand that...
The famous atheist who I mentioned is Richard Dawkins. Now would you say, like what you may have alluded about me, that his approach is dishonest?
Yes, there may be such a thing that a believer knows that God exists, and its 100%, whereas an atheist wouldn't believe that there is no God 100%...
I know there is a God. There is such a thing of 100%
whereas, for a non believer, its maybe almost impossible to claim that he doesnt believe 100% and that there is no God 0%
BTW a famous atheist say or wrote something like that
But can someone affirm that there is 0% chance that God ( or whatever you want to call) created this world?
Not talking about 0.1 or 0.0001.
How can one affirm such a thing?
Catchy title. A-theism means something like No theism. And it's rare maybe almost impossible that somebody would not believe in God 100%. Not even a 0.01% that maybe God created this world.
And if he/she thinks that there is a very small percentage so, than it's not atheism; and still he/she...
