here's a refresh to 15 random things about me!
1. I go to exhibitions regularly. today I visited an exhibition of saints and relics at the British Museum, the exhibition presented amazing relics from early Christianity up to the late middle ages, including pieces of the true cross.
earlier during the day I visited an exhibition about American freemasons in history at the Freemasons Hall.
2. I STILL do Yoga.
3. Since my wife has switched to full time studying, for the past 6 months or so I've been making breakfast, lunch, and dinner pretty much on a daily basis. despite my wife's amazing cooking talents, I have to say that for these past months I've been eating very well
4. I aim to start a dissertation about Islamic and Viking archaeology soon.
5. I visited the Pyramids in Egypt, the Great Wall of China, Stonehenge in Britain, and excavated in the site where Richard the Lionheart defeated the forces of Sultan Saladin.
6. I went on a 6 months backpacking trip accross Europe.
7. I still travel. and for the past year I visited France and Israel several times, visiting Brittany and Cognac, two regions in France which up until now I have not visited, and also visiting places in Israel that I've always wanted to go to, like the Knights Templar tunnels in Acre, which I found to be very impressive architecturally and historically.
8. I've been in living London for the past 10 months, although my wife wants to move to Israel, Im trying to make the best out of living here, I love London and enjoy much of my time here.
9. Recently I did a security course with people who live or currently live in London, many of them from all over the world. it was very interesting to do it with people from Algeria and Egypt for example. I still keep in touch with some of them.
we were Christians, Muslims, and Jews in class. Krav Maga instructors, veterans, and other people who want to enter the security field.
10. Me and my friends love sleeping in the outdoors. during the evenings we place large cooking pots on a bonfire, and slowly roast beef with root vegetables.
11. I did a 80 KM (50 miles) forced march in about 16 hours.
12. Although I am agnostic or atheist, I have a lifelong passion for studying world religion. I read anything I can get my hands on, from the gnostic gospels, to Christian history, to Jewish Kabbalah, and Islam.
My wife and I aim to do advanced academic degrees about Western Esotericism in the future.
13. I've read the Christian bible and the Qur'an in two languages, but neither of the books in their original languages- Koine Greek and Classical Arabic.
14. I am reading Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code for the first time, and I'm loving it.
15. when I'm in a good mood I wear eggplant coloured All-stars.
