I thought you Americastanis said
“Plead the fifth!”
;)
That's a constitutional law thingie.
No one learns that in school.
Not even many cops are aware of how it works.
And the temptation to talk...to cooperate...to
succumb to pressure...those warrant training
to resist.

Public schools should be teaching survival skills,
eg, how to avoid being beaten, shot, or framed
for a crime by cops. But that would be admitting
that there's a problem with these heroic public
servants.
Ahh the infamous police propaganda I’ve heard so much about.

I’m not American so I can’t speak for the schooling you guys receive.
Do you think the US schools purposely ignore various issues and try to keep the populace uninformed, for their (the governments/powerful elite) own benefit?
I’m merely curious about your stance.

"Purposely" is too strong a term.

Why?
I mean I’m not saying there’s some secret cabal plot from your government or anything.

I dunno. From what I keep hearing from folks from Americastan, there does seem like quite a lot of propaganda built into the US education system
More than most in the West anyway

It starts first thing in the morning by pledging allegiance.

It is rather odd, I will say.
Americans seemingly care about sex scandals way too much

Not that we don’t. But I couldn’t care less if my PM had 50 sexual conquests
Though knowing Aussies, I suspect a PM who has multiple affairs would likely be offered a beer and a high five lol
They care in the sense that it provides ammo for attacking a political opponent's character; adulterers are untrustworthy and dishonest, and if they could deceive and betray their spouse then they could deceive and betray their country. The outrage is often insincere and selective.
