Democrats had their 8 years. People know where the crap lies.

Yeah, 8 years of shoring up the damage he inherited, while fighting a Republican congress tooth and nail to do even that. A damaged, large ship cannot turn around just like that, esp against continual resistance. So the racists think: 'See? Proof that a black man can't run the country!" So they vote in a known white male racist and sexist. Do you really think such a person is going to advance our society?

So after Obama does all the dirty work to shore up the damage done by Bush and others, Trump comes along and says: 'Step aside, boy, and let a real man show you how it's done'. And 'merika falls for it....again!

I doubt race was a central theme. There are issues involving race that need addressing but

That might be ok. Just as long as individual freedoms and the constitution are upheld.

If you don't think race was an issue, you are pretty naive.

I predict that under Trump, we will see martial law imposed and the constitution trashed.

Race was magnified as an issue, to create fear and open agenda, from all sorts of sources. Much more than what it should have been. I think the contrary, that race as most people believe it to be was just an illusion. The naive cave to its hype and magnification, and will continue to cave.

Patience, bud. Things tend to evolve slowly. People have the microwave-mentality. Microwave-society mentality. Dodging off track and trail with some bumps and bruises tends to get back to a straighter path, even if it is a slow evolution.
Also, what many see as progress is progress that needs torn down and rebuilt. It's as just how the mind works. Certain ideologies need torn down and rebuilt from zero-state.
Such 1 person is not responsible for advancing society. The little guys advance society and have the biggest impact, a little here a little there is great progress in disguise.

The magnification was seen as real, and responded to accordingly, just as Trump is magnifying the issues, and voted into office because of it. It's a sham.

....which is exactly what Obama has been doing for 8 years, and now the fascist Trump wants to come along and tear it all down. America is impatient and wants instant results, like spoiled little children. When they don't get what they want, they turn to the wolf in sheep's clothing with his lure of candies and other false promises. If Americans really knew how to read Trump, they would see what he is really up to.

Spoiled grapes you say? C'mon, you do know that is why Trump was voted into office, after spilling his sour grapes all over Clinton and Obama at every opportunity. Go ahead. Deny it. Those who voted him into office were fed up with a black man in office. That's their sour grapes.

Revelation all the time
This notion of Trump (and Trump supporters) and racism is something I truly hope we can have ongoing REASONABLE dialogue on. When the "mexican judge" thing came up, I challenged many of RF'ers on what makes that racist? Still don't feel I got adequate response, and instead got response that tells me people don't really understand actual racism. So, they bandy the word around as if they are the superior intellectuals in the room, whereas I observe them as barely understanding the concept. Feel free to throw in my face that the likes of Paul Ryan saw that as textbook racism, and I'll feel free to say I disagree with Paul Ryan on this, because he too is mistaken.

Racism is not dead in America, but it is truly fringe. Prejudice is wide spread. And it is CLEARLY not on one side alone. If you think such a notion, then I see that as having blinders on. In many ways (or even many threads on RF) you can see just how prejudice works on the Left, and also see how it is one big huge factor why Dems lost. Even visibly so. The idea that a whole swath of people (who supported Trump) are "deplorable" is blatant prejudice. Enough of prejudicial statement that it is plausible reason why HRC lost. For sure not the only reason, but pretty sure there are Dems among us who now realize how politically idiotic it was for HRC to make that assertion. And yet, it isn't the only type of thing from Dem supporters I heard in that vein. I almost feel like I heard variation of that every single day for last 6 months. Had a close friend express to my face something similar and when I called him on that, it got heated fast. Then we stopped speaking (his choice) and today we had some reconciliation (started by me, he participated with kindness).

There is the superficial stuff we (America) are earnestly trying to do to overcome our prejudicial ways. Such as voting for African American twice to be POTUS. Or how when Trump was giving his victory speech, my observation was Ben Carson got the loudest applause of all people Trump chose to thank (when I thought it would make sense to have that go to Kellyanne Conway). That stuff feels good, I hope for everyone, but I realize true racists probably loathe such gestures. I truly think they are on the fringe, and while it is possibly best to ignore them as much as possible, I think completely disregarding such people is something that helps with their political influence, however slight that might be.

Then there's the heart of the intellectual debate that I see come up once in awhile, but is in some ways disallowed because of the idea that during such an open and frank discussion someone might be offended. If that is truly the rationale for shutting down the discussion, then is it any wonder why things are the way they are, where when prejudices are expressed we act like that's so new, so over the top we have to elevate it to racist rhetoric and shun all such points? The reality is that prejudice is clearly a two way street unless active listening is occurring and people are present who can tolerate the prejudicial rhetoric of fellow citizens, while offering rational rebuttals that don't seek to shut things down completely because someone, somewhere might be offended.

To me, a simple starting point is realizing there's degrees of prejudice such as discrimination, stereotyping, bigotry, and racism. If all of those are put in the same category as if they are all synonymous and that is truly the intellectual conclusion, then to such a person I would say all people (with very very few exceptions) are "racist." I don't think that myself, but if the terms are going to be set up with such disingenuous understandings, the hyperbolic needs to be stated before that person walks away because of so called offense taken. It's honestly offensive to hear that Trump is racist and his supporters are racists, stupid, misogynistic. And yet, here I am. You get to express that, and I'll hear you.

But please do let me know if you are up for the reasonable discussion. Let me know if you can handle the tough talk. Regardless of your decision, me and the likes of me will still be here waiting for those amongst us who can truly handle the ongoing debate that still 'needs to happen' but for various reasons (i.e. prejudice of another sort makes it so it) is disallowed. And thus far, isn't really getting us anywhere.

Well, unless the superficial stuff is all you are really aiming for.

Have to agree my friend.

Illusionary race card created. Interpreting words and magnifying it into much more than it should have. It's hard to believe how still so many cannot see through this and how it has been so exploited for agenda.

It's a great tool that festers within people's over-sensitivity and over-emotions. And people just love to be angry, interpret things out of context, magnify the out of context, blame others, become exactly what they claim to hate themselves.

Everyone knows that the Trump supporters voted for him because they are 'fed up' with what they consider a corrupt inept administration. I would call that 'sour grapes'. Some are even saying these people don't just want change, they want revenge.

But the 'fed ups' have been brainwashed and see Obama as a president who has done nothing, in spite of his many positive achievements. For quite a long time, Obama was accused of being a terrorist who wanted to overturn the government into a socialist state.

But as I said, the real issue underneath the hood is that Obama is black, and that cannot be changed. Trump was instrumental in going after him on the birth certificate issue, but Obama outsmarted him by making it public and doing away with the issue once and for all. Bunch of sniveling a-holes who will stop at nothing to discredit an honest man far more intelligent than the lot of them. And they know it, and resent it. Too f-ing bad. Who knows where we would be now if Obama had not come along when he did to snag the presidency. Cool, sophisticated, and highly intelligent at a time when the nation was on the brink of disaster, and that made the Republicans hate him even more. Stupid knuckle walkers, they.

Congrats to all the voting efforts of all fellow conservatives everywhere for this great historical win by President elect Trump.

Let America become that beacon of freedom and prosperity once again.

It feels really good and a great relief to see and experience this moment.

The people have made their true voice known by the power of their vote. Yes!

Let's heal this divided nation. Not by the tyranny of the minority, but through the cooperation of the majority , for which the minority will benefit as well as the majority.

"Boom" goes the dynamite for so many destructive policies and programs that hurts more than it helps. It's now a chance to bring forth something worth building from the rubble.

Here's hope for an awesome four years under President Trump's leadership and healing for both Republicans and Democrats alike.

Same to you!

Relief yes, this is a vote for stability, sanity, restoration. But I pray, quite literally, for the same on the other side. The hate I have witnessed towards this president elect and the American people who elected him, is unprecedented in my experience- from people I know and love dearly. It is heartbreaking.

This notion of Trump (and Trump supporters) and racism is something I truly hope we can have ongoing REASONABLE dialogue on....*snip*...

It's more than a notion; it's a FACT: Trump is a RACIST, OK?

So let's look at some FACTS, shall we?

Is Donald Trump Racist? Here's What the RECORD Shows:

quoted from the article by Michael D’Antonio, the author of the book, "The Truth about Trump".

"Next in the Trump record on race came a 1991 book by John O’Donnell, who had been president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City. O’Donnell quoted Trump saying,

“ Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys wearing yarmulkes… Those are the only kind of people I want counting my money. Nobody else…Besides that, I tell you something else. I think that’s guy’s lazy."...

..."And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks.”

BS. What about the daily onslaught of race hatred and insults masked as legitimate reason Obama and his family had to endure for 8 long years, which he took in stride and grace?

My point exactly, let go your hate. Do you support Ben Carson and his pledged efforts now to help our new president replace the nightmare of Obamacare? Or are you racist?

That's just a crock of pure s**t!

You're just plain wrong, and don't understand the depth of the issue. You make the common mistake of seeing the response to the race card as the race card being played, when the race card has already been played long ago and has been in place all this time. It's not so much that it is magnified, as that it appears magnified only because it has been played down for so long. Get it?

"Racism? What racism? Why, we're a kindler, gentler nation, don'cha know? What's that you say, dear? You can't what? Breathe? I can't hear you. What?"

So let's look at some FACTS about Trump's racism, OK?:

The demagogue is one who preaches doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots.H. L. Mencken

...which is exactly what Trump has done, and his election proves the idiot part, in much the same way that G Bush's election also proved. What this suggests is that Trump has stuff up his sleeve he is not revealing, stuff that is going to make your skin crawl down the road a bit.

Everyone knows this?
Well, then everyone is wrong.
All the other Trump voters I know have a plethora of reasons for voting for him,
& more importantly, against Hillary. Corruption is merely one of many.
I would call that 'sour grapes'. Some are even saying these people don't just want change, they want revenge.
That would be to fail to understand our motives & reasoning.
But the 'fed ups' have been brainwashed and see Obama as a president who has done nothing, in spite of his many positive achievements. For quite a long time, Obama was accused of being a terrorist who wanted to overturn the government into a socialist state.

Why is it that a vast number of Hilda voters aren't content to hate Trump,
but must fervently dis us voters too? I blame Hillary & her media minions.

Btw, I find that using colored fonts messes up quoting such posts.
After many attempts, I still cannot fix the quote feature in my response.
Please, people.....no colords in RF.

Oh, that sounds wrong.
