A happy life

In my opinion the best way to live a happy life is to live your life, don't worry about the lives of others and don't parade your life about in public to others.

I'm a straight married, gun owning, america loving, nonreligious fella.
I don't go parade around in public about any of it because...
to name a few..
1. Its not the business of anyone else.
2. I don't want to draw attention
3. I don't want people asking me being you're straight, what do you think about LBGT
4. I don't want people *****ing about my guns
5. I don't want people preaching to me

My point is if you put your life out into the public for everyone to see and know, don't ***** because you get criticized.

Didn't you just parade these here, and complain about others in how they live their lives?

to name a few..
1. Its not the business of anyone else.
Let's say for instance, the government came and confiscated all your guns and denied you the right to own them. Would you complain about that? Would you get in other people's faces about that?

Then when others' rights are denied them, why are you unsympathetic, when you would do so yourself if it was you who was being denied your rights?

2. I don't want to draw attention
You would if you wanted to change your situation where you were being unfairly treated. Can't you be sympathetic to others in that situation, or do you just not care about them because their concerns aren't your concerns?

4. I don't want people *****ing about my guns
The fact that you are complaining here, shows that you would be like them too and ***** about your guns, if someone took them from you. Right?

5. I don't want people preaching to me
Isn't this you preaching about your rights to us? Why is it wrong for others to do this same thing when it's their concerns they are upset about?

My point is if you put your life out into the public for everyone to see and know, don't ***** because you get criticized.
Then you should welcome the feedback I just offered you. I think it's important to look at these things by putting yourself into the shoes of those you are criticizing. I'm quite certain you would do the same thing, if the roles were reversed. Don't you?

Do you know me? Do you ever see me?
Are ever around me? Do I take it out in public to meetings, on TV, etc.

That is the differences.

I'm just going strictly by your post itself, and my comments were restricted solely to its contents alone.

To live a public life happens as soon you walk out of the door. People will have an opinion about you, I know that to well after comming out, and People see me as I truly feel whole and free.

If they comments on my appearance that is actually a compliment no matter if they ment it well or not.

Reasonable within reason. I care about other people's lives because I'm a human living in a human society and we should take care of each other. I don't keep my feelings a secret either offline or online with the exception of while I'm at work for liability reasons. What you see is what you get.

If someone wants me to go to a pride parade I will, and celebrate along with them. If someone else doesn't want me to pry, I won't, because it's the respectful thing to do.

Instead of thinking that who I am is none of anyone else's business, I think more along the lines of their opinion of me is none of my business.

I'll have to agree with @Windwalker on this one. We are social animals and feedback from our peers is important.
And, to answer your questions, I know you as @We Never Know, I see your avatar, we meet on RF. This is our "public".
I wouldn't mind you do the same IRL. Processions, prides, protests, appearances on TV are informations about how other people think.
There are limits, yes, you shouldn't do it on the job, you shouldn't do it to a captive audience and there are ways which are way too much "in the face". But overall, I think, we are too apathetic. There is a line between being tolerant and being disinterested.
We should care more not less.

By your definition, is a bisexual man who has slept with both men and women in the past (and is attracted to both men and women) straight or gay?

Yeah. That's what I thought. He's neither.... he's bisexual. Not that difficult.

To me thats like saying a person who has sex with kids and adults isn't a pedophile
