A question for Christians (and others who believe in heaven)

I don't fear dying, because I know my fate is sealed as a result of my salvation in Jesus Christ. Now would I like to live a long life to see my children grow up and enjoy my retirement. Sure, if its God's will, but I do not fear death or what comes subsequent to it, because according to Jesus, I will have eternal life in heaven. :)

"God gives us free will to choose to accept or reject God's purpose".

Atheist easilly get upset, I have noticed. Maybe it is because they have rejected their GOD, and feel so alone?
Perhaps that is the reason.

Of course it also could be that when attempting to debate using logic and fact that they are constantly being rebutted by people who are consciously rejecting logic and fact. It could be that a person of intellect who is legitimately attempting to bring a logical debate to bear on a particular subject gets bent out of shape when the retorts to his/her logical stance amounts to "the Bible says so", "my preacher/preist/etc. says so" or "I feel it in my heart".

Just a thought.

I don't think thats always true. There are christians who present logical and rational reasoning for their beliefs based on biblical and corrobarating evidence, but still frustrate skeptics because they too are steadfast in their beliefs. :)

Well I am a believer in Christ and I don't believe that anyone goes to Heaven when they die nor does anyone go to hell. Death is like sleep in which the righteous are raised to go to Heaven at the second coming of Christ and in which the wicked go to hell. I don't fear death because I know that Christ has conquered it. When you say why do you try to prevent death, I'm not exactly sure what you're saying. I try to keep myself healthy by exercising and eating right and try to keep my body in shape because my body is the Temple of God (1 Corinthians 6:19) but I don't have any qualms about dying if that's what you mean.

I am thinking you are serious when you say another diminsion. May I ask how you came to this conclusion? How many dimensions are they that you are aware of , what are there names and which one is heaven in?
Yes, I am serious. How did I come to the conclusion ? - a sort of pseudo logical deductive reasoning (I added the 'pseudo' because someone is bound to jump in and tear my argument apart):D

The Gardens of Eden (which was on Earth) is in the same location as Paradise. (cos the bible says so):shout Therefore the only logical explanation (to me) is that paradise is where we are, but in another dimension.

It is also quite a 'handy' idea to float as to people seeing ghosts (are they merely for some short space of time seeing into the other dimension) ?

If there is another dimension, there is no reason why there should not be more than one other (There could be an infinite number) - but what the heck, for what I am expounding as a possible theory only needs two.:D

Hmm, maybe. I kinda doubt that's the reason though. Maybe it's because you're offending them by what you're saying. If someone was going on and on about what you yourself believed, your religion or lack of, and they were saying it completely wrong. Then, after you had corrected them, they went on and on with it. In this situation, would you yourself not be cross? I know that I would be. I'd be quite upset, and not let up the argument.

I find it quite unnecessary for you to have added the question at the end. Are you sure you did not mean "Maybe it is because they have rejected MY GOD?"?

You are painitng a rather broad brush here. Many Christians do not fear dying because of the assurance of salvation and everlasting life. When you think about it, life is a blip on the radar screen when you compare it to eternity. We all will spend eternity somewhere and the Bible narrows it down to two very different places (Heaven or Hell) based on one's free will choice to receive or reject Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. If life on earth was all there is, it becomes a rather hopeless existence. :bounce
