I'm not sure why that guy felt the need to mention that there was no "Islamist motive." It sounds like they're assuming that is the default motive behind such attacks, and that strikes me as a short-sighted and stereotypical assumption.

True story: There are nightclubs in Egypt that have caused controversies and resentment from many Islamists for a long time. I have yet to hear of any incident where a shooting occurred there by Islamists, even though, as far as I know, there are Islamist groups that have firearms at their disposal.

As someone once put it to me, "There's a difference between opposing something or even supporting violence and committing it with your own hands." Most Muslims, even ultra-fundamentalist ones, have never engaged and will never engage in armed violence.

Yes, they engaged in terror and Stalin did too.

My country experienced Red terror which was communists killing mostly rich people and White terror which was right wing killing communists, atheists and some random poor people. Both killed neutrals. That was 100 years ago.

Stalin might hold a world record for the numbers of those killed under his
rule.
20,000,000. TWENTY MILLION.

In February 1989, two years before the fall of the Soviet Union, a research paper by Georgian historian Roy Aleksandrovich Medvedev published in the weekly tabloid Argumenti i Fakti estimated that the death toll directly attributable to Stalin’s rule amounted to some 20 million lives (on top of the estimated 20 million Soviet troops and civilians who perished in the Second World War), for a total tally of 40 million.

Many people do. Even when the airplane vanished a few years ago (Malaysian Airlines?), many were assuming it was hijacked by Muslim terrorists, even going as far as claiming they landed it on some remote island to use it later.

I don't know why people feel such a need to express surprise or shock when evidence of association between Islamism and terrorism is presented, nor when the expectation of same is presented.

How many other groups warn in advance of terrorist attacks these days? Which other belief group openly offers money for the heads of their critics?

The word terrorism is derived from the word terror.
If i say to you that i'm gonna kill you, then i'm a terrorist regardless
of the reason, i just caused you to worry and to feel fear about what
i'm gonna to do, causing terror to the civilians regardless of the reason
still is terrorism.

So why not to use terrorist for anyone who terrify the civilians, why a Muslim terrorist?
Look for example for Thomas Mair who killed the PM Jo Cox, no one said that he was
a terrorist even though he said "My name is death to traitors, freedom for Britain."
how that isn't politics.

No it isn't terrorism, some groups believe that they're in war with the west and it has nothing
to do with religion but revenge, but it happened that these groups to be Muslims.

The only things I will say here are;

I am glad that no one, other than the gunman, were injured.

And

If you ask all the government, law enforcement and military organizations for the definition of Terrorism you will find that none of them are in 100% agreement... so there is no agreed upon definition of terrorism.

Wu wei out...
