I support women having the right to do what they want. Hell they will anyway. I just know I am lucky to be here but thats another story...

I'm against abortion simply because I believe killing children is wrong, and I'm not a right wing christian fundamentalist. I also believe the tens of thousands of children killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is wrong. But I believe the morning after pill should be in vending machines.

Many women will attempt to end an unplanned pregnancy. Always have, always will. So it's best that abortion is legal, safe and accessible.

This. When I was a teenager (just after they invented the wheel) there was a young woman who messed up, got pregnant, and went to a locally known women who did abortions. The procedure went horribly wrong. Even though the hospital was less than three blocks away, the young woman bled out and died before they could get her to help. Now I have a granddaughter. If, when she gets older, she does something stupid and wants to end an unwanted pregnancy I pray that there will be a clean medical facility she can go to and not some dirty back room. I will always love my granddaughter more than I will love an unborn fetus.

I also believe the decision to have an abortion should be between the woman, her doctor, and her conscience.

I am for abortions in only a very few and limited cases:
Rape and/or when the birth will mean nearly certain death to the mother.

Other than those specific examples I am against abortion.

On the other hand, I am all for the "morning after pill".

And yes, I do realize that there is a contradiction in my thinking.
I'm human, get over it.

Rape? So do you think if a woman wants an abortion because of rape that the man first needs to be charged, stand trial, and found guilty before she can have an abortion?

No. The initial police investigation should be sufficient.

I usually support it in all instances.

Let me add in I am a moderately conservative Christian as well. While personally, I think that abortion should be used sparingly, at the same time I realize the government doesn't exist to legislate morality.

Guilty with no chance of being proven innocent?
If someone breaks in to my home and steals all of my stuff, should I have to wait til the burglars are apprehended, trialed, and convicted before my home owner's insurance pays for me to replace my stuff?

If I am shot in a drive by shooting, and the bullet breaks my left femur, do I have to wait until the shooter is apprehended, trialed, and convicted before the surgeon will repair my broken femur?

Your question is a strange one.

Say what you really want to say.

Basically that is where I go with it.

I think it'd be great if no one in the world ever had one again.
My judgements aside... Until that is the case, best to keep it safe.
Prohibition has never worked.

Do you 'know' or believe?
I don't think anyone is 'in favor' of abortion, it is merely that a significant number of people are in favor of a woman having the right to abort under certain varying circumstances, such as medical emergencies, rapes, early pregnancies etc.

Why should it be a restricted choice? Why couldn't a woman have an abortion for any reason? I think you've also illustrated another point-many 'pro-life' proponents are really 'anti-choice'.

No doubt and pro-choice doesn't mean pro-abortion......

I think its something 99.9% would never actually want to do themselves, but see the necessity of the option.

Why stop at children who are still in the uterus....why not allow women to kill their children who are outside the uterus?

It's a child. An unborn child, but still a child.
We don't let women kill children who are born, so why should we let women kill children who are unborn?

Because once the child is born, we seem to prefer that men do the killing, via capital punishment and war.
