Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi is dead

I don't know that that is necessarily a dichotomy. I think it quite likely that they're both.
Most of them are probably sane and rational people. But, because of what they believe, their moral compass gets severely corroded and profoundly misaligned. And we know many of them, especially their leaders who are more public, they aren't stupid at all and it's not unusual for them to have a formal education.

I just see Asad as having made mistakes that he should pay for, yes. But ISIS will have always been the bigger danger, because it was a kind of long-term brutality, meant to last.

It was that radical Sunni Wahabism -the deadly cancer that doesn't stop on it's own, but requires physical intervention ten times out of ten. Wherever it goes, war is quick to follow.

Which do you think is stronger, Syria and Iran or the ISIS?

It's likely that they're "capable" of understanding more things, but they're restricted from interacting with anyone on the outside, so the idea of learning anything new becomes moot. Some radicals are so stubborn, they reject all forms of education.

...They force themselves into stupidity. Which is stupid. :)

Think of it this way:
Calling them stupid isn't so much different than calling Trump supporters stupid. Some are, but stupid really just does not describe many of them.

I do not really buy it, it looks like drama.

The postman told the Iraqis about the place of Al Baghdadi, is he really such a stupid
to let someone knowing where he stays, why the Iraqis didn't inform the Iranians
about his place as the Iranians have their forces in Syria, why not the Syrian
government, why not the Russians.

Trump chose to leave Syria forever as he said we have no business there,
some of his opponents used it against him, so how he can get out of it.

Killing Al Baghdadi as a great job and then leaving Syria as a hero.

It is a very interesting thing that, once upon a time, it was Islam that saved the knowledge of ancient civilizations and passed that knowledge down to us. Muslim scholars translated the Greek and Roman works, they pursued science, they built observatories and libraries. They were, for quite some time, a brilliant civilization.

But what happened? Why, for the hundreds of years, has that same brilliant civilization thrown science into the bin, stopped translating the books of the world's knowledge into Arabic and other languages within Islam?

To be honest, I find this quite inexplicable.

Indeed.

Thankfully that knowledge survived, to bring the West back out of the Dark Ages. We stole it back. :)

Apparently he was cornered in a tunnel by American special forces and detonated his suicide vest, killing himself and his children.

...Trump said: “The thug who tried so hard to intimidate others spent his last moments in utter fear, in total panic and dread, terrified of the American forces bearing down on him,” Trump said, claiming that Baghdadi died “whimpering.”

Apparently this is the picture of his last moment.

Is anyone sad about this?

I'm sad that the world is in such a state that something like this happens at all.
Died "whimpering"???? Not likely.

What is likely? Considering he didn't even kill a single American? Obviously he was scared to run away like that, because usually strong suicide bombers try to take people out with them.

...Him dragging the kids along kind of debunks any insinuation that he was trying to spare anyone from the suicide vest, which others also had, but didn't get the chance to use. He just didn't want to die alone... So he killed his own children.

The military is saying this happened in spite of Trump trying to remove the US troops from Syria, so no credit is due to Trump.

Did they say in spite, or despite? Because "in spite" doesn't really add up linguistically. Or logically.

And I think Trump would have had to give the approval.

Was there a link in the OP with additional info that I overlooked? I did read that there were children....perhaps he was not expecting an attack at all? Most anyone experiences fear in a threatening situation, but to say he was whimpering pushes it. He was a hardened combat person.

He thought God would protect him being "Caliph" and all. He found out God wasn't helping him, so he lost faith and cried his *** off, finally realizing what a fool he was.

...But it was too late.

WWMRD?
Though it is good news we have one less I'd say the reality is that there's probably another ten to take his place. As harsh as it may sound it is probably good he took his kids with him as we won't have them growing up vowing revenge.

Oops, what I meant to say was that this whole Baghdadi thing is, you know, really mysterious. I mean, probably it's no big deal? Actually..?

who cares what Russia has to say? Trump is supposed to be cool with Russia?

and even Russia is saying trump is lying.

Here’s why credibility is important!
W/all of the lies Donald Trump tells every single day a story like this out of RUSSIA can actually be taken seriously! Americans never had reason to buy into Russian propaganda. Trump has now changed that!
