I see American average health as the cause, as Americans have double the amount of diabetes and 50% more overweight, both corona markers

How long has your wife been in hospital?
Is she just on O2 or is she being kept alive on a machine...with tube in to her lungs?
Yes I've heard that many patients lay on their stomachs in our local Covid wards.

Feeding tube? That suggests that she has been in this condition for a long time and thus lost weight.

What are her chances?

No ventilator, but she is on 90% pure high flow 02 at several pounds of pressure via a nasal cannula.

She has been in critical but stable condition in the ICU since Tuesday. The feeding tube is a possiblity because she has barely been able to eat in a week and a half, first due to sore/swollen throat, and now due to sedation. See she started getting sick last week.

I don't discuss chances with the doctor, it's either 100% or 0% chance, I'll wait to see the coin land.

Survive all this? Emotionally? Or by not getting sick? Emotionally I'm barely handling it, physically I've always had a healthy immune system.

I do not excuse worse than trump, however in this situation China seems to have got a handle on things while trump mocked and ridiculed. Even after he became infected.

I didn't say you mentioned a dictator. Calm down. I've just seen people on here bashing Trump left and right but praising China over the virus handling (which makes zero sense as there's no reason to trust what the Chinese government says as they're an authoritarian dictatorship). Another factor is just how 'social' a society is. By social, I mean lots of interaction, and some of it very close. like hugging your grandma. Lots of factors.

Because I traveled through Beijing once upon a time, I do trust Chinese stats on this. There is rigidity, and compliance to that rigidity. I will get nailed for this statement. After all China, is bad, bad, bad.

I don't particularly believe china, i believe the chinese people i know, friends with relatives living in china and i believe friends that live, or have lived in china.

The Chinese approach to fighting covid 19 is strict and rigourous using techniques that are known to work. They are compulsory, and seem to have worked... But hey, why should i trust china of a blithering idiot like trump?

Still, Sweden has much less than USA with their easy going, hugging, unmasked approach for 1 year. IF it were a really deadly virus, all Swedes would have been dead by now. BUT maybe the Swedes have a much better immune system, this I can believe, because USA has much more diabetes (10.5% against Sweden 4.8%) and overweight (72% against Sweden 50%) people. Maybe the icy cold weather also improved their immune system; my guess ... US scores high because they score high in overweight and diabetes; as those two are markers for being at risk with corona

Sweden actually gives its citizens healthcare, though. The US also has pretty bad standards when it comes to food safety in general, ngl. Tasty food though.
For example, pretty much all of their kids cereals are literally sold in lolly (candy) stores in other countries due to the extensively high sugar content. So I wonder why they have lots of diabetes cases. Wonders do cease

The US meanwhile allowed all sorts of protests, rallies and had a president actively encourage unsafe unhygienic measures. Even ignoring sound expert advice from medical experts and advisors.
Even our PM did more to protect the country and all he did was (arguably) leave the heavy lifting to state governors.

The more people are comfortable following either government guidelines or hard rules, the lower the infection and death rates are going to be. Very simple. The plain fact of the matter is this: social distancing, wearing masks when you can't, washing your hands, and avoiding gatherings can drastically reduce the spread of the virus. Large Trump rallies are the very antithesis of this, and encourage spread. And therefore infections, and the inevitable consequence of more dead people.
