I believe her since she's been on the forum for some time (well, a lot of time) - however, I've never witnessed one, myself, in my time here. There is someone here who dresses honestly a bit like the Amish, but I don't think he is one.

Rummspriga. And they get to live outside the Amish community not just before adulthood, but to experience it before making the decision to leave the Amish community or remain a part of it.
But there was a schism in the Amish community some years ago. Some use electricity, LED lightbulbs, motor vehicles, and even computers.
iirc, the dispute is over whether the use of the technology in question is as a tool, or a convenience...and that interpretation has changed over the years...
