Quoting scripture.... are you not?

Am I?

I didn't realize I was.

Actually that was a piece of advice my mother told me when I was a kid and told her I didn't believe in gods or the supernatural. She, being a baptist christian, was a little surprised but after I explained my position she understood and said "It is always good to trust nothing and question everything.".....

Comparing the delusion of monetary wealth to spiritual beliefs.......
and you think this works?!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Of course. The evidence all around us is that life forms die. Feeling that you are somehow exempt from the process is a feeling that you possess something of great value. Whether you have faith in vast monetary wealth or spiritual immortality, your faith can be misguided if you believe that you don't need to corroborate it by checking the facts.

And we've had so many discussion of belief in this forum.
You know by now, how it works.
Indeed. I do know how it works with you. ;)

I have a thread by that title...'how it works'....check it out.
I have, but your reasoning is just as flawed there as here.

Not exempt.
We breathe...we die.

It's not a 'feeling' that I might continue after this life.

In all that we see above our heads, and all around us on this earth...
And you think our lives terminate altogether?

Flawed thinking?

Nonsense...!

Adherents to Judaism have faith their religion is truthful.

Adherents to Islam have faith their religion is truthful

Adherents to Christianity have faith their religion is truthful...

Yet each of these religions are strikingly different and professing different messages.

Basic teachings don't differ because the founders of all revealed religions were from ONE source.

I'm so glad you're not a scientist.

Personally you should trust nothing and question everything.

I am just an ordinary human being; all human beings are not scientists.

Why does it make you happy.

I will only doubt when there is a reason to doubt.

Yeah...the copy I've got is more to...
'trust no one...question everything'

That notion is in part, the stance I hold....rogue theologian.
