Aids & the prophecy

FearGod

Freedom Of Mind
Prophet Mohammed peace be upon him warned all humanity regarding the STD

“When promiscuous behaviour becomes widespread in a nation, Allah will send upon them such (strange) diseases that their own ancestors never heard of.” (Hadith At-Tabarani).

Let us discuss the hadith and to see if it was not correct or if his advice was not worthful.

Some will say :
it is a forer effect,he could mean Potato.
Why he did not mention AIDS by name,so we could believe on him.
why he did not inform us how to treat it
why he did not inform us how it will be transferred to us by other means, why he did not mention blood transfusion for example
that make no sense
that is not logic
that is not science, that is philosophy
that is pointless
that was known before 5000 years ago, nothing new about it
we can use condoms

I won't argue with that one.

But seriously, if you are trying to prove that Islam is the correct religion because some statements in the scripture are true, it isn't going to work. All religions hold their own prophecies that have come true. It isn't the best way to make a person curious about your religion.

Also I would just add, that the graph showing the increasing number of people living with HIV needs to be corrected for global population increase, and the fact that advances in therapeutics have meant people with the disease live longer lives, rather than duying young of oppertunistic infections. (Such that an increase in the number of people living with the disease instead of dying could be seen as a good thing).

Sexual disease was known about long before Mohammed. It was also known that it was spread by the sex act, and that promiscuity, was the main cause.
In those times they had no Idea at all, what caused disease. It was mostly attributed to punishment from God.
When he wrote " Allah will send upon them such (strange) diseases that their own ancestors never heard of.” Mohommad confirmed this punishment view.

Even as recently as WW2 Syphilis and Gonorrhea were the only widely known std's. Aids had not spread to the human population.
It is not strictly a std, as it is spread by blood in any fashion not only during sex.
It is likely that it first spread to the human population by preparing "Bush Meat"

Your quotation clearly demonstrates that almost anything can be read into Scripture. Though it is certain that Mohammed knew nothing about the science of STD's or any other disease.

That what i had said once again

Let us discuss the hadith and to see if it was not correct or if his advice was not worthful.

So i am not preaching, but what i say that,is his advice correct and worthful or not,i dont know
why some people reply in different way than what i had asked, similar to the sample of replies which
i had already guessed, which is far from the question.

is it worthful,no because so and so
yes,it is,because of so and so

Dont be angry about me,it is normal that sometimes people misunderstand the questions,
if you got a reply,i will be glad to hear from you :)

The advise is good. I agree with it. Of course, I do not need the hadith in order to know this fact. It just takes some logic.

I disagree that Allah sends the disease. I do not believe that God actively rewards and punishes us in this lifetime.

Great that you know that Chastity is the normal logic choice and you are not in
need for hadith to show you this.

But the problem that not all the people are chaste as you are,so they are in need
for such advice, what do you think?
Do some need an advice? or all are chaste and honesty and our community are
clean from promiscuous.

I think that a lot of people are brought up on the idea that being promiscuous is a bad thing. But people break those 'rules' anyway. For instance, in almost all religions it is taught not to have sex outside of marriage. But a lot of people from all religions still do it.

It would be nice if people were born wise and didn't have to make all of the mistakes in order to learn the lesson.

So why do you think that they broke the rule and disobey their religion,is
it because they dont have faith in their religion, then they do the obscene,
i guess if he got true faith, then he/she will not do it.

What do you think?

So you're saying that your god deliberately caused HIV/AIDS? If so, then I think you're implying that your god is evil.

What do you think?

I think it is a mix of reasons.
One is that people too easily give into their urges.
I think that we make excuses, like God will forgive me if I repent (for example).
I think that people give into social pressure. And yes, this can be argued as a lack of faith. In fact, I argue that most religious people do not have complete faith. But that is a debate for another time I think.

There is nothing funny about my reply...
However it may not be what you wanted to hear.
My reply made the answer very clear, and gave my reasoning.

The Hadith has nothing to do with Aids, so wass not correct.
As it is not correct it has no worth.
God does not punish in this world.

So you're saying that your god deliberately caused HIV/AIDS? If so, then I think you're implying that your god is evil.

he is saying that as a result of the actions of humans to commit adultery (one of the major sins in islamic belief) AIDS was introduced. at the same time we believe that nothing happens (in this case AIDS) without the permission of God.

an example to understand the above better:
if you eat and eat and eat you will throw up, don't blame God for it, you are the one who over ate and even though your vomiting didn't happen without the will of God it happened as a result of your actions.

make sense?
