I happen to know a guy, thankfully heading to prison, who just recently was busted for several different pedophilia charges, and I was supposed to stand up in his wedding a month ago. So unless his marriage was just going to be a cover, he is one counterexample.
Of course, I can see the argument for why pedophiles are lumped together with gays if being gay is considered deviant (a statement I DO NOT agree with). After all, is there anything more sexually abhorrent than pedophilia? And if somebody is that deep down the well, I would imagine they are generally more sexually explorative than most other people, probably with higher percentages of bothe hetero and homo sexual behavior and god knows what else.
Unless its just one specific kink like any other.

I agree, I see it as a difference between sexual orientation and sexual devaincy. Homosexual or even Transgendered activity is not harming society, as the likes of the others are.
the concept of informed mature consent completely disintegrates this argument.

Well he said his religious views see homosexuals and pedophiles as both gay, to him his faith and religion claims gay is any and all deviant forms of sex. Just climped together....My advice would be to not get too worked up over the absurdity of the beliefs of someone else...

Most of us know that saying that all pedophiles are gay is an incredibly ignorant statement as well as generalizing.
But instead of getting angry, I would start trying to educate people. Ignorance can be undone, if the person who has an ignorant idea is willing to unlearn it.

Actually, scientific studies have proven time and again that most pedophiles are heterosexual. It's mostly about a power trip, more than something defined by sexual preference.

Oh I agree, and this is why we need to change society on their views on homosexuals. Or else you end up with some idiot power tripping with power, or will group us all together.
I can understand deviant sexual acts being the same and similair. they are offensive actions of sex, but homosexuality is not deviant....
It is best for one to accept that others will hold strange & offensive beliefs based upon religion. In the worldview of some believers,
all pedophiles being gay is consistent with their faith. It's similar to some telling me that I'm dishonest in my denial of God....the Bible
tells them that God is known to us all, so dishonesty is the only possibility. At one time, I took offense at this, since honesty is important
to me. But I'm now bothered no more. Since it's more about them & an arbitrary dogma than it is about me, I've decided that such odd
views don't have to interfere with our personal or business relationships. It works! So perhaps the best we can do with backward thinkers
(smug, ain't I!) is convince them that not all gays are pedophiles, & can otherwise be upstanding citizens in their eyes.

As a Heterosexual, I find the implications of this statement offensive. To make a generalisation like this is both narrow minded, and inflammatory. Just because I like to have sex with women, does not mean I am a paedophile. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that not one of the Heterosexual people I know, are paedophiles. :no:
Paedophilia, Homosexuality, and Heterosexuality are terms defining the sexual preferences of a given person. If paedos were heterosexual, there wouldn't be any need to categorise them as paedophiles. Paedophiles have a sexual preference for CHILDREN!
Usually pre-pubescent children. Very often, they have no particular gender preference, as long as they are children, of their own particular pre-requisite age. So it is just as offensive to say "Most Paedophiles are Heterosexual" as it is to say "Most paedophiles are Homosexual". "All paedophiles have a sexual preference for children". This is the definitive phrase I think you are looking for. It isn't ambiguous, nor does it needlessly
bring the perfectly acceptable sexual practices of normal people into question.
This particularly offensive type of wrongcock may, out of guile and neccessity masquerade as being of a different persuasion, but they are not. End of story.
