Just curious as to wether the followers of abrahamic religions here believe Buddhists are worshipping FALSE idols and are hellbound.

I will respect any thoughts either way, as long as your truthfull I will respect that.

If yes please elaborate.

Are you going to hell?!! First we'd have to define what hell even is- most of us all have different ideas: 1. Hell is a grave ("underground". 2. Hell is some oven. 3. Hell is a separation from God. 4. Hell is a state of mind. 5. Maybe even more.

Second, whichever those definitions you accept, do you believe you're going to hell?

Third, what does God want? How can we even know what God wants?

The question in the OP, because of all that, would be impossible to answer. :)

Excellent answer, Christine!

There are people who claim to know for sure whether someone will go to Hell after death, but it seems to me that ultimately it comes down to deciding whether to trust their judgement or your own.

I'm a Mormon and no, I don't believe you are going to Hell. My Church doesn't teach that you are, either. (No need for me to elaborate, I guess.)

Yes, you are. The bible says:

He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. - Matthew 12.30

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. - Mark 16.16

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. - John 3.18

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. - John 3.36

If you aren't for Jesus, you are against Jesus. If you are against Jesus, you are damned and won't have eternal life.

Yes, you are. The bible says:

If you aren't for Jesus, you are against Jesus. If you are against Jesus, you are damned and won't have eternal life.

If that's the criteria used, then well over a billion followers of "Abrahamic" religions will be in hell (whatever that is) as well.

I've got a question: Does it bother you that someone believes you are going to "hell"? If so, why?

The notion of 'eternal damnation' was an invention of Orthodoxy, devised as a means of control and of terrifying the ignorant, superstitious masses of the day into submission.

Eternal damnation? As if a loving God could or would ever countenance such a thing...

Through the Law of Cause and Effect justice, for good or ill, will be done and through the cycle of life all souls will ultimately be redeemed and perfected, returning to the Divine from whence they came.

Sometimes it does bother me. It shows that the believer does not think much of me/those people as human beings. Or, perhaps, just that his Faith is not particularly big on caring about non-believers.

Dear Payak, forgive me if this is misplaced, but .... This thread you've started and your post 10 on the 'Preparing For Your Death' thread. I hope you are not thinking of doing anything silly...

That's a good answer.

I think that might be a reason why Jesus told us not to condemn others. That is a teaching I gladly follow.

I did not ask what hell looks like, I also did not ask what god wants, I simply asked a very simple question that is very easy to answer when people post honestly rather then attempting to look like a super intelligent philosopher.

Hell is mental torment. Some People experience it every day, some when they worry, some when they are driving, some in religious groups, some in debt, some in war, some in peace, some that are ill, some in court, some in prison, some in here.

For the record it does not bother me in the slightest, its a question asked out of interest.

So far a Mormon has answered, that's all.

Lol,no my life is at an all time high,I am just a curious person.

Preparing for my death is natural I feel when you have children and often face life threatening situations.

You're already attempting to explore the hell that these people may put you in. Go towards heaven, you'll make it before you die!

My answer was "I don't know". That hardly shows me as some super intelligent philosopher. :sarcastic It shows the opposite.
