Am I going to Hell??

In Hinduism, there are temporary hellish regions where people who have been really bad go to suffer for a while. Eventually all souls get chances to return to God. You are a very kind and loving person. I do not think that you will go to "hell." In Hinduism there is also something called Karma yoga - performing good actions, which is also a pathway to God. Even if you don't believe in God, I think that your afterlife will be pleasant simply because we get back what we give out and you are are kind person. :)

That is a nice thing to believe. :D

Thanks. :) My dad always says that if we close all the religious texts right now and learn to live with love, God will be pleased. Love is most important. That's why I put "Hinduism/Love" next to my religion on top. :D

I, personally, don't know who or who is not is going to "hell". That would be something that God alone knows. I don't believe in a literal hell, anyway, but a separation from God, which can be even if you are still alive. I don't believe in eternal torment at all.

I don't, but then I don't believe in hell anyway. I believe that you can create your own "hell" but this depends directly on your character and whether or not you focus on the positive or the negative in life and not on what one believes.

This all depends on you:

Are you a good person?

Do you generally try to help your fellow man? Do you donate your wealth to the less fortunate? Do you go out of your way to make sure that everyone can live in a loving and harmonious environment?

If so, then no, you will not be going to hell. Good people go to heaven.

Are you a mediocre person?

Do you live life day to day not really paying attention to the plights of the world? Do you occasionally work acts of kindness even though you aren't perfect? Would you describe yourself as the average non-holy person?

If this describes you then you are destined for heaven. God's a pretty lenient deity and though you may have half-assed the whole pious thing you've been a pretty good guy in general. Grab a cloud and enjoy some angel-food cake.

Are you an evil person?

Are you Racist, Sexist, Bigoted, and generally a dick? Does the thought of helping others fill you with disgust? Does your average afternoon schedule look something like the following:

- 12pm: Kick a litter of puppies
- 1pm: Give freshly kicked puppies back to the 4-year old cancer patient.
- 2pm: Curse every God that you can think of.
- 3pm: Drown orphans.
- 4pm: Commit genocide. Laugh while doing so.
- 5pm: Develop a new strain of cancer.
- 6pm: Combine new cancer strain with mutant DNA forming Super-Cancer.
- 7pm: Sell your soul to the devil.
- 8pm: Sell everyone else's soul to the devil, at half price.
- 9pm: Go to sleep.

If this compendium of horrendous acts doesn't seem out of sorts with day to day life then you go to heaven. God has taken a look at your case and believes that you are without any merit. Still, life is fleeting and those of us dirt-side have learned from your atrocious mistakes. Welcome to everlasting forgiveness.

According to your religion, and based on my beliefs, do you believe that I will go to Hell?? I am just wondering...

I do not believe in anything. I believe that there is no god, and that life has no meaning.

No. You will have the chance to hear the truth (either in this life or the next), and will be free to accept it or reject it. God, who truly loves you, will place you where you will be most comfortable, amongst people like yourself. I believe that you will be greatly involved in your own final judgement. The potentially sad part is that, if you choose to reject the gospel, you will later see what you could have had.
Hell is for the truly wicked and certainly not for those who mistakenly chose the wrong beliefs or religion, or never heard the true one to begin with.

I don't believe in a pass/fail system. Your outcome will be one of many options, rather than one of just two.

Hm, according to my beliefs that's way above my pay grade. ;)

It doesn't seem so, though.

Myself, I'm hoping I can go to Hell this summer. I've wanted to send some postcards for quite a long while now but haven't managed the short trip yet.

Yes! No? Wait, how the heck would I know? My religion says that God knows, and that the ones that do go to heaven accept Christ. I don't think my religion should be teaching that all atheists go to hell. I mean, if an atheist dies, and it turns out God is real, the athiest isn't going to be, like, "Well, obviously this is just a big god-shaped puppet". They're going to be like, "Holy crap! I was wrong".

At that point, does the 'Christian' God go "well, too bad!" and throw you into Hell?

I think that the people that go to hell are going to be the ones that "see" God and choose to reject Him. I believe that people "choose" to go to Hell, whatever 'Hell' is.

Where in the Bible does it say that the people who go to heaven are people who do good things? I think you're reading the wrong Bible!

Well... it is nice that you people don't think that I will go to hell... or so you say... ;)

I should make a "Brutally Honest" thread... How would that go, I wonder...??

There is no heaven, or hell, I'd worry more about what's going to happen for the remainder of your life.
