What were some of your favorites?

Well to be honest I haven't exactly read myriads of versions and some of the ones I have read are specifically for children but my favourite so far is the volume by Kamala Subramaniam. I read it in my mid teens with dad and we both loved it. I highly recommend it.

Friends,
There is a clear understanding here that this temporary form that contains the individual consciousness is a part of that WHOLE or universal consciousness and being in direct communication dependence on scriptures [which are realization of others] or other mediums is only a matter of choice.
Accepting / not accepting of the understanding by other forms [some of which are also friends] are their choice and karma.
Best Wishes!

Friend Zenzero,

Agree to that; just as Sanatana Dharma has many paths, our way of looking and the path we follow are different. But, the goal is the same.

The difficulty seems we cannot talk about the goal without having to return to the methods, it frequently appears.
Just a thought :)

Personally I have started to lean towards a single path. It is good academically to read vastly and explore many ideas, however "I" am no longer an academic, I need pass no tests on this :) It is ultimately the buddhi/chita/ahamkara which is both the thorn and the thorn which removes the thorn, is it not? So any encouraging of that is not the most fruitful of methods.

Why post here? Because in my experience the Bhagavad Gita can answer that intial need.

That is true Onkarah; but the BG is understood differently when "consumed" in different ways. When read with intellect, the meaning is different than when read with the mind or read with the chitta or when read with the language of the heart/soul. At each level of spiritual maturity, the BG adds to its meaning that u understood before. The meaning from the "eyes" of the Atman which means Nirguna state and Turiya state is THE MEANING. Having said all these, Sanatana Dharma has many paths and one should choose the path that one is suited for.

I was reading about the stages - Shravan, Manan, Nididhyas and Saakshatkaar today. Shravan means listening , Manan means filtering out important versus not important, Nididhyaas means focusing on the important and Saakshatkaar means remembering that filtered important content SPONTANEOUSLY AND EFFORTLESSLY with crystal clear clarity. Atma Vichar can lead to its Saakshatkaar and Parmatma Vichar can lead to His Saakshatkaar.

Thanks Satsgangi
Clearly I enjoyed your reply more than my last post as I appear to have removed it whilst you were composing. Your reply is helpful. :)

There is neither a GOAL or a PATH, they are as long as as you yourself have mentioned above depends on whether one is [reading] from the mind or no-mind besides as mentioned when one never considers having separated from the source [whole] the question of goals and paths do not arise.

Friend Zenzero,

My goal is Him and my path is surrender- total surrender. No mind is just a by product of my path.

You miss the point
There is *someone* who is *SURRENDERING* and so he is on the PATH to surrender.
There is nothing as no-mind so it cannot be a product and so not even a *by* of a product.
Best Wishes on your journey!

Friend Zenzero,

Your point is well taken if one takes non duality as the gold standard; I do not. For me surrendering and remaining surrendered is the final liberation. Mind or no mind is simply not important at that point. Thanks for the wishes though.
