I just convinced 2 commercial tenants who are liberals (classical) to take the course, get licensed, & buy handguns to carry.
Both settled on Glocks (#17 & #19) based upon our extensive discussions. The state just became a better place.
The best? Hah!
No heavy, bulky, single-stack mag boat anchors for me.
I'm sure that's a fine weapon for use at a range....where they have a forklift to hold it for you.I fired a rented one of those at this place:
Wild West Shooting Centre | Real Guns, Real Bullets!
And put 25 rounds in a two inch circle at eight metres after not firing a handgun for about two years. That, my friend, is a quality firearm. Glocks are accurate if the target is in the same Ford Focus as you, but not much further than that. Crappy balance.
PS If you can hit what you're shooting at, you don't need a sixty round mag. Try using both hands, or keeping your eyes open.
Glock. When you can't afford the very best.

Not something you could carry in an IWB holster all day, every day.
I always have a Glock 9mm under the driver's seat of the van and always will.
Gun control is to me like abortion: if you don't believe in it, don't get one, and otherwise mind your own business.
The gun control panic by hunters, self-defense advocates, etc. stymied much social progress. People were tricked into voting against themselves and as a liberal i have to say it was our own dang fault.

9-Year-Old Girl Shot, Mistaken for Skunk - YouTube
9 year old girl gets shot by a relative when she's mistaken for a skunk. This was at a Halloween party. The sort of gun culture that makes it acceptable to have a loaded shotgun at the ready at a Halloween party with kids in attendance is obviously dangerous. The sort of paranoid and mentally unbalanced people whose first reaction is to pull out a firearm when they're not threatened is exactly the sort of scenario that people who are for gun control wish to prevent.
Is everyone mentally unbalanced? No. Are many gun owners law-abiding and responsible? Sure. But the law must apply equally and fairly. Gun control. Use it.
Are drunk drivers justification for alcohol prohibition?
I think drunk drivers are generally a justification against drunk driving.
Then let's be consistent with our logic.
"Guns don't kill people, people kill people"
Sure, but I think that the gun helps, and helps a little too much. It's really easy to kill someone with really fast pieces of metal ripping through flesh and bone without knowing what just happened.
