Apparently Kavanaugh has the votes he needs secured.

Well here comes the liberal wailing, weeping and throwing dust in the air.
Of course that's not a surprise anymore. It's expected. They didn't get their own way. Cry-Baby immature time. ....

Someday they'll grow up into responsible respectable adults. Maybe. Until then, they're not old enough to lead the nation into anything.

Long as the public knows who the people making those death threats are coming from and their affiliation that fuels their motivations.

Let the world know who they are.

My sincerest wish would be for the best protection that money can buy to keep those dogs at bay who are responsible for making those threats.

On balance that has not been a good thing.
That's easily understood. The massive scale farms and orchards alone would have to consume tons of water since it doesn't rain much, and a booming population in various cities here and there. And I feel bad for the cows here, being stuffed up in those pins and eating straw instead of being able to roam around without bumping into each other and just reaching down to eat grass from the ground. And it would take me forever to pet them all here. :p
But it is not a place I could live - too hot and dry for my tastes. I wish you well.
Thanks. I don't plan on staying in this area forever myself - a stop along the way of getting to where I want to be, which will be either LA and or San Francisco. As for this area, I do know I could do without all the dust. So much of everything else has been awesome, but I'm sneezing and coughing it out. I feel like I need a gas mask to go outside.

Never any doubt even with the last minute circus BS the Democrats cooked up.
So you know for a certainty that it was "cooked up," and that Prof Ford was lying entirely as part of a Democratic plot, do you?

But then, as Trump has been suggesting for a few days now, all cases of alleged sexual harassment of women by men are lies, because as we all know, men would never, ever do that sort of thing.

Maybe the women are just trying to get revenge against the men who DIDN'T try to molest them, because their vanity is offended....

I still don't know who was lying or truthful yet wrong or truthful yet accurate.

I thought you were Jewish? That comment about "here comes the liberals" is so redneck.
Just because I don’t drink the liberal kool aid doesn’t make me any less Jewish. Making aspirations on red necks? How “liberal”.

How dare you not conform to stereotypes!
Have you ever noticed how leftish folk feel free to wield racist
epithets like "redneck"? Sensitivities are double standardie, eh.

Ok...it's still the conservative-backwoods-missing-teeth-Trump-supporting-tobacco spitting-pale-turned-burned-skin redneck talking point.

I wonder what the reaction here would be this post were turned inside out.
Let's change the focus by replacing some elements....
"Ok...it's still the liberal-ghetto-gold-toothed-Hillary-supporting-Hennesy-swilling-dark-skin thug talking point."

It's just an experiment.
But I suspect that it might...just might possibly....be considered racist.

Nor do I know, and yet I lean towards supposing that there is at least something to Prof. Ford's memory, based the kinds of things remembered, and I also lean towards suspecting some measure of withholding of truth in Judge Kavanaugh.

But as I said earlier, it is one thing to invoke "due process" when you are putting someone on trial facing penalties for wrong-doing, and quite another to invoke that same "due process" when deciding to grant someone reward and very real power. As I said earlier, the neighbourhood talk about a potential child molester may not be enough to convict him of a crime, yet I would doubt that many parents who heard the rumour would pay him to babysit.

When I weigh the fact that Judge Kavanaugh has now been tasked with "baby sitting" the US Constitution and the Rule of Law, I would not have gone there with the doubts I hold.

Due process is worthwhile even in non-criminal judgements.
Because less than credible claims would give accusers veto
power over any candidate.

Well, part of that "due process" is listening to his testimony on that horrible day before the Senate committee, testimony that caused retired SCOTUS Justice John Paul Stevens to change his own mind about Kavanaugh's fitness. For Kavanaugh to label Prof Ford's testimony as "This whole two-week effort has been a calculated and orchestrated political hit, fueled with apparent pent-up anger about President Trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups," seems to display something of a lack of the partisan impartiality one would except in such a role.

But ignore me, it's your country, not mine. I hope it turns out well for you, though more and more I have my doubts.

I don't ignore you.
But I have a different assessment of the whole system.
In the meantime, while neither you nor I were able to know for sure who was or wasn't telling the truth, or who was or wasn't mis-remembering, Donald Trump has cleared that up nicely -- and since he's the President, how could he possibly be wrong? I mean, of course, when he apologized to Kavanagaugh, and said: "Those who step forward to serve our country deserve a fair and dignified evaluation, not a campaign of political and personal destruction based on lies and deception." There you have it, Professor Ford was lying, and deliberately waging a campaign of political and personal destruction!

As the saying goes, I suppose: "Lock her up!"

I see options for Ford other than lying....
- Truthful & accurate, but with no evidence.
- Truthful & wrong about who & what she remembers.
It would be wrong to prosecute her.

No, no...it's just that Americans seem willing to pay more for less. Our truly funny ones stay home.
