Are Blood Transfusions Really Life Saving?

One thing I really think you should consider: If you have to get surgery soon, and when you go there you are told that the doctor is going to give you blood, will you be so intent on being right, that you go along with it, even though we have shown you the risks, and that they are usually more harmful than good? Will pride make you risk your health? And if you do have a reaction to the blood, will you still feel this strongly? I know your step dad mistreated women, and said that his brother had brain damage, which you don't even know is exactly how it happened, but will that make you put your own health at risk because of feelings left over from how he treated you and your mom?

I st

I studied the Bible too! For 40 years! If you are agnostic, you aren't dismissing the Bible either

Agnosticism - has nothing to do with any particular religion.

Agnosticism is the philosophical or religious view that the truth value of certain claims — particularly claims regarding the existence of God, gods, deities, ultimate reality or afterlife — is unknown or, depending on the form of agnosticism, inherently unknowable due to the subjective nature of experience. - New World Encyclopedia

I have already said that reading the Bible with the horrendous thing the God and followers supposedly do, - tells me the God of the Bible is NOT God.

I never said agnosticism was a religion, I said it was when someone was uncertain! I think you must have misread what I wrote! Anyway, my point was that you and I have both done a lot of research and I am very certain what to believe, so if you are uncertain, why are you trying to influence me? I know where I stand, where are you going to lead me to? You are perplexed

I have research materials in my own religion and I read those and the Bible all the time, I am not going to research Acts in a religion which I don't agree with! Why don't you do your research at JWorg?

Because I prefer to go to the source - rather than later interpretations that have no context to the original texts.

I provided that particular Christian site because it did some actual research and came up with a more logical conclusion.

Jworg does research to come to their conclusions and it makes more sense to me, than what I have seen elsewhere! If you find what others tell you to be more logical, that is your subjective opinion and you can think as you do! But I dont have to view the world through your eyes

I will assume this is to me???

Pride? Intent on being right? Don't turn this into such personal crap.

Try logic and scientific/medical knowledge which most doctors agree with.

I've already had more then a dozen transfusions, - resulting in my being alive.

Obviously if needed, I would have more of them.

Everyone is welcome to go on with this if they want, but we are getting nowhere so I am going to call it a night! JWs have freedom of choice and conscience and we do not let the world mold us into their way of thinking no matter how hard they try, as evidenced by our being persecuted in many countries, and even now in Russia! You can try to crack us, but we won't budge because we know who God is and know the bible so well! Have a good day to one and all

We are up on latest medical knowledge as we have clearly shown, and myself I have studied medical books for ten years and taken some classes as well

If you had dozens of transfusions, you may be at risk for Rheumatoid Arthritis, so be mindful of that! Good day and God bless! Peace

It is not subjective, - you do have to acknowledge that the Jewish texts DO NOT say what you folks have interpreted them as.

This is just plain fact. Both Jewish, and most Christian, and non-Christian, theologians and historians, etc., have come to this conclusion after studying the texts.

Last thought of the day: You say you have had dozens of transfusions and owe your life to them! As it should be! You chose your own treatment! Did we interfere? No! Now let us choose our own health care and world view!

Peace, and remember that opinions are like noses, we all have one! They are subjective and you can't tell me your nose is better than mine, you can think it of course!

You are not being persecuted when we present you with the facts.

The Jews whose text it is, says you are wrong in interpretation. Most Christian religions say you are wrong in your interpretation.

You are welcome to believe anything you want. Just don't claim it is in the Bible, - from YHVH.

We can prove they are not.

LOL! I assure you if that were the case, I would take arthritis over DEATH any day.

You studied religion and the Bible and are agnostic, which means you are unsure! I studied the Bible and religion and AM sure what to believe! So if you are confused after studying it, why are you trying to correct someone who knows what they believe?

Again - you keep enclosing Agnosticism in your Christian beliefs.

My studies show me that the Bible is too human to be from any God.

There is no confusion.

YHVH - murderer of innocent babies for the crimes of adults, - is obviously not a real God.

Instead of just saying those things, back them up with sources, although I really don't want to discuss abortion here! The other guy and I got sidetracked, but I have my hands full with all of this! If you want to have abortions, that is your choice

"Consciousness requires a sophisticated network of highly interconnected components, nerve cells. Its physical substrate, the thalamo-cortical complex that provides consciousness with its highly elaborate content, begins to be in place between the 24th and 28th week of gestation. Roughly two months later synchrony of the electroencephalographic (EEG) rhythm across both cortical hemispheres signals the onset of global neuronal integration. Thus, many of the circuit elements necessary for consciousness are in place by the third trimester."

When Does Consciousness Arise in Human Babies?

You seem to not understand what is being said to you, especially concerning Agnosticism.

There is no uncertainty. God/Goddess/Gods can not be proven, nor disproved.

That is the way it is. All else is just speculation.

Thank you! It is always a good feeling when we don't always have to deal with walls and get acknowledgment that what we say is true

And thank you! I know those walls can be broken down, having been one, by people like yourself, who patiently stick to the evidence itself- even though you may never hear any concession- it can and does make a difference

everyone here apparently does have the time and curiosity to talk about these things, which is half the battle!
