Are Blood Transfusions Really Life Saving?

Interesting point! But saying "Abstain from blood" is clear! But going further with that, the Bible is not written in an overly obvious way, it is written in a way that weeds out sheep from goats! The goat will look at it superficially and scoff, and the sheeplike person will try to find the explanation! When Jesus told the crowds that they had to eat his flesh and drink his blood, they left off following him because it sounded outrageous! Then his apostles although not understanding at first, probed deeper and he explained what he really meant! Some have been "granted ears for hearing, and eyes for seeing" others not
True and that is what i do, I do not see the bible as being literal at all, you need spiritual discernment to see that which is truth, no organized religion can do that, you cannot hold truth in an organization, this is why I left church and started to think for myself through meditation, scriptures of all sorts have divided us from each other with all believing they and them only hold the truth, pure arrogance.

There was no exaggeration. I directly asked you "Do you believe upbringing has no influence on a child by the time they are 12?" and you answered "YES". There is no twisting of words at all. If you can't keep track of what you write, you need to consider what you are writing more carefully before you post it.
that the way someone is raised until 12 molds their thinking, but I added that everyone is an individual and people can adjust their thinking when they encounter new life experiences, and they have their own personalities! For instance, actors Stephen Baldwin and Alec Baldwin, one wanted Trump to win, the other Clinton! Or a devout Catholic I know, whose brother is atheist! And some people actually can change views at a very tender age, as in the case of a kid who was raised with religion, studied the Bible at 12 and became atheist

Because I asked you "Do you believe upbringing has no influence on a child by the time they are 12?", and you answered "YES". You are now saying the EXACT opposite of that and saying that you didn't change your opinion. In other words:

Earlier, you agreed with the statement "children are not influenced by upbringing by the time they are 12".

Now, you disagree with the statement "children are not influenced by upbringing by the time they are 12".

Do you honestly believe there was no change in position? I'm willing to accept that earlier you just misunderstood the question, so why not just admit that instead of blatantly lying about what you obviously wrote?[/QUOTE The only lie is what you are claiming about me! I said being raised a certain way may or may not influence your thinking, or it may influence it, but you encounter other evidence and change ideas! Where is the lie there? Seriously, if you maintain that I was laying, we may have to end this conversation,

First of all, why would conditioning make someone count as a human? In the womb, there are some thoughts in their head, even if we don't know what they are! They are not sophisticated thoughts, but the baby recognizes its mother's voice, it likes the soothing sound of classical music, it sucks its thumb for comfort, it senses the mother's stress, it feels pain! When it is born, it has not yet developed an ego, but you would not kill a 1 day old child!

This isn't actually correct.

There is no sentience before a certain trimester.

Thus they are not thinking.

At some point survival auto-functions kick in. Such as a jerk at sounds, or the sucking impulse needed after birth. These are not sentience.

Read up on it.

PS - A born "1 day old child" - is both sentient, and autonomous.

Do you not acknowledge that you answered "yes" to my question?

See how you twist what I claimed? I said that the way you are raised influences you, but it doesn't have to make you think a certain way! It contributes to it, but other influences and/or your own personality may make you change your ideas!

Instead of just saying those things, back them up with sources, although I really don't want to discuss abortion here! The other guy and I got sidetracked, but I have my hands full with all of this! If you want to have abortions, that is your choice

The only lie is what you are claiming about me! I said being raised a certain way may or may not influence your thinking, or it may influence it, but you encounter other evidence and change ideas!
But you only said that AFTER agreeing with the statement that "children are not influenced by their upbringing by the time they are 12". Ergo, you CHANGED YOUR POSITION.

Why can't you just admit that?

Where is the lie there?
The lie is that you didn't change your position. You clearly did.

Seriously, if you maintain that I was laying, we may have to end this conversation,
I've already given you the option to admit that you misunderstood the question rather than lied. You have instead opted to ignore that and continue to insist that you've remained perfectly consistent.

If you're incapable of admitting that you wrote your own words, I may have to agree to end this conversation.

What if my conscience told you to give up meditation and start going to the Kingdom Hall! Would you follow my conscience?

I see you want to continue to exaggerate, so I am not going to read your posts anymore! Bye

Whatever "Christian site" you posted from is not our brand of "Christianity" Why are you sourcing a different religion to prove something to us?

The site discusses the WHOLE text and the verse in question, - in depth, - giving actual meaning.

Go read it.

I really don't see why I have to keep pointing out your own words to you. You are either a terrible liar or so wrapped up in your own ego that you can't admit that you made a simple error. Either way, there's no point in trying to have any kind of dialogue with someone who refuses any kind of self-examination or self-honesty.

I have research materials in my own religion and I read those and the Bible all the time, I am not going to research Acts in a religion which I don't agree with! Why don't you do your research at JWorg?

You keep bringing up Jewish interpretation! We are NOT Jews! I don't care how a Jew interprets something! Nor do Jews care about how a J Witness interprets something! You aren't following the interpretations of my religion, but you think I have to believe what a Jew thinks

Actually I have been giving you logical reasons, - using both Jewish and Christian sites, - and my own reading of the original Hebrew and Greek, - to show you are incorrect.

"Jewish and Christian sites" Again! For the hundredth time, and maybe this once it will sink in! I am not Jewish! I am Christian, but not the "Christian" that you have in mind! Repeating the same thing over and over and ignoring my answer will not accomplish whatever it is that you are hoping to

I think we are accomplishing nothing, would you agree that this is an exercise in futility or do you want this to go on for longer?
